It is getting to be time for new tires. I am just a casual autocrosser so I need something for street and track. These certainly have the right price and good ratings from Tirerack. Anybody every run these before? Good/bad?

Well, they don't make the short list of "serious" street tires that folks like to autocross, but that doesn't mean they won't be a heckuva lot better than the all-seasons you'll be replacing!

It also doesn't mean they won't work ok for you either.

I had these on my car for a while, and know of at least one person who has autocrossed them successfully:
Sumitomo HTRZ III

about the same price and performance range as the Hankooks.

I am actually running Nitto Invo's right now and they feel slick as snot on the pad at SPC. Perhaps it is my (lack of) driving style or the tire pressure, but I was looking for something a little better, but still streetable. I have also considered the Sumitomo's as you suggested. But was just curious if anybody had tried the Hankooks.

The problem with your current tires could be age, as well. Tire rubber hardens with age. After 2 years, it's noticeably degraded. After 3 years, even on my wife's car, I replace them. (on my car, they rarely last more than a year, anyway)

I've driven the V12 evo tires on a Mazdaspeed3, and although they're not grippy enough for that car at full boost, they will be my daily driver tires when I can afford two sets for the MX-5.
