I know it's a long shot, but is it too late to register? I think I know the answer, but you never know unless you ask...

Unfortunately, yes. For Brooksville events, we have to turn in an access roster to the airport a little over a week in advance...that was last Friday. But we do have an event at SPC in July...pre-registration opens Friday, and if you miss that for some reason, SPC is an open site, so we do take as many walk-ons as we can fit.

For those who might be interested, the Shuttle is scheduled to launch on Saturday around 7:17am. So if you're out there setting up the course, or on your way to the event, look off to the east and you might see it! Safely, of course, if you're driving.

Guys, Loren has been helping me tremendously to make this course. Everyone who says that he doesn't like to go fast is absolutely wrong, because in this case he is going out of his way to correct spots in my course that hinder speed. I would like to hear no more bitching about it. I am confident that when Loren suggests a course change it is in the interest of safety, and it's not because he "doesn't want to go fast". Plus, if after we set this course up and we drive it, if there is a place to open it up a bit more it will absolutely be done. The only thing that I will not open up is a couple of places in the middle. If those obstacles are not in the course design, we will have two long slaloms. Aka, teh ghey.

With that being said, he is making sure that we can stay at a steady 30mph, in the slow areas, and then post the course up when he is finished since I have a 4 hour drive back to Wichita.

Mike, if you want to do the food run you are welcome. I got us a good deal (same we always get) at Mykonos, and even got a few different pizzas in the interest of funzies. That will be ready at 11:30, and if it's picked up then, we should be able to eat right at noon. I'll put you down for the food run, and Steve can give you the info about where it's at, and get you the cash to make it happen.

This WILL be a good day of autocrossing. Everything is in place to have an absolute blast.

I have never driven my speed3 in any sporting event. It remains showroom stock and properly maintained.

Here's the Course Map.

Carl designed a fun course, I just had to fix a lot of the usual newb course designer "too tight" areas and smooth some things out. Should be quick in most places, slow in a few places (but not painful as Carl had originally drawn it!).

Probably mid 90's on Saturday...... I would plan on 5-6 bags of ice for the morning alone and lunch run crew picking up another 5-6 then. We usually can't keep enough ice cold from morning to last until the end of the event.

Course looks awesome, it has a few safety issues though. But I know you guys like to waste time the morning of the event fixing them, instead of now.

PM me your concerns, Jeremy. We can discuss.

Carl rushed through the design, and I rushed through reviewing it. This is why I don't like when event chairs wait until the week of the event to design a course.

If you look at the map, you'll see two red lines. Those lines delineate the expected crossover area of two cars on course. See if that addresses any of your concerns. No cars should be anywhere near each other anywhere else on the course.

Worker stations are very approximate and will be moved around to where they need to be and where they are safe.

Ok... Here's what Mary will pick up tomorrow: Guessing we have some water left over? So 6 cases of water, a twelve of cherry cola, 12 of ice tea. We will also bring 6 bags of ice (replenish supply from folks who leave site for lunch?)

Let me know if you want more ice, water, soft drinks etc...

You're trying to leave no one left to work the course? One guy gets the work assignment...if there's someone free to ride with him, fine, but it looks like we're running only two groups Saturday.

^^^ I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.

edit: Mary/Scott - the supply plan sounds fine. The lunchers can pick up what we don't have, or someone could even run out in the morning if need be.
