While I'm thinking of it, we also need a spare tire mount for the tongue of the trailer.

I've noticed we always throw the spare all the way in the back, then bury it with our cones and gear. In the event someone transporting the trailer needs it, unloading the entire contents on the side of the highway doesn't sound like fun.

IIRC, they are $10 at harbor freight........

Everything was awesome! Thanks Scott for the vidz! If your camera has a memory card option for recording, go that route, I had to do it with my camera and it worked out great after I stopped using the hard drive. It just wasn't able to record on the hard drive while it was mounted. With the SD card though, it does great!

The only thing I have to complain about is that once again the club ran people who were in the same class at different times. I don't care if I come off as a whiner, but when my class finishes up and I have 3rd place, looking at the results the next day and seeing that someone ran in the afternoon and beat the time really pisses me off. It's like watching an F1 race, seeing the guy who wins, and then 2 months later Speedvision goes "Oh, hey guys... Listen, about that win that BMW had, they didn't really win it. Yeah, the Ferrari guys watched what was going on, then set up their car differently and were able to get a faster lap then the BMW team. Better luck next time." What an epic disappointment. It just seems absolutely stupid to have a board up that is supposed to tell you how you placed if it's not even accurate.

I'll echo what everyone else said...great event. Kenny did a dandy job with organization, the layout was more challenging than expected, and 7 runs was about right in the heat of July.

Curious at when the event concluded as it seemed to be running 'long' or atleast long by typical FAST standards.

Big thanks for letting A run first...cooler weather is always welcomed than high afternoon!

Looks like the guy you are referring to was a novice who registered for the wrong class and was moved after the event. I don't know who's fault it was, but I wouldn't say the club did anything wrong. I think Jamie is doing a pretty good job with the run groups lately.

Well, it was pointed out that Jack was misclassed (he had slicks on the front) so I had to move him to C, and one of the novices had a "fast" time that was out of place... so after doing the moves and reprocessing the results, everything should be correct now. Everybody should go look again, and Carl can still be pissed.

That's exactly why the car is set up that way. I'm very pleased with the latest round of suspension changes, I just need grippier tires now.

They weren't supposed to (I think), but there was a lot of confusion as to who ran when. Also a couple of misclassed entries.

Apparently no one listens (or understands) verbal instructions about run/work groups. Working in the trailer for the first group this was apparent by the number of people that came in asking "what group is running now?" and "when do I work?". Heck, people couldn't even remember what class they were in to look up the run/work groups!

It seems that if it isn't written down in a clearly defined manner and posted on the outside of the trailer everything becomes chaotic.

My suggestion is post the list of people with their classes on the trailer, always. On another piece of paper (to allow for last minute changes from 2-3 groups as happened on Sunday) post the assignments.

But, always, always post the lists! There is enough happening in the trailer getting timing setup that 20 or so people coming in really disrupts things, especially when I was trying to teach someone new to timing how to do it. OK, maybe it wasn't 20 people, but quite a few came in, plus dribbles of people later looking for the insurance waiver form. Can we keep that outside the trailer too? You know, it might have been 20 people all told. And it was REALLY DISTRACTING!!!

Just my $0.02 on the matter. And now I feel amazingly better after that rant. I didn't realize how much all the disruptions as we were getting started bothered me until I started thinking back about them.

While we (Jamie does) try to run a class all together in a group, stuff happens. It doesn't always work. If this were a national level competition, it might be a big deal. But, we do this for fun, so it isn't.

There was a ton of time wasted between run groups, especailly between group 2 and 3, it took close to 30 minutes before the course workers were in place. This really needs to be addressed more throughly during future drivers meetings.

I agree with Bill that the run/work list needs to be posted on the side of the trailer, and most of the time it is, but I think because there were so many walk ups Jamie didn't have a copy to post.
