"Annual" "membership" meeting - post event wrap-up
It's that time again. We're putting together a little party, uh, I mean, business meeting at Ron Croft's place, at some point in August. We're narrowing down the date, but what we'd like to know now is if people are interested in something during the day (lunch) or later in the afternoon (supper).
I've posted a poll to vote if you'd like.
At the meeting, we'll be discussing such things as the state of FAST, upcoming classing and points changes, we'll be awarding goodies to the '09 season's class champs, and whatever else folks deem worthy of our time.
As soon as more is known about the date, we'll spread the word.
By the way, normally the "membership" meeting is open only to "members" - those who attended 4 or more events the past season, chaired an event or participated in the novice school. But since we're gonna be handing out awards and wanna show support and congratulations to our champs, we'll open it up to anyone who'd like to join in.

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting
It was suggested that breakfast may be an option, too. Do something a few hours in the morning and then free to go the rest of the day. I've amended the poll to include that option. Please feel free to re-vote if you'd like - changing the poll erases prior votes...

Seeing the breakfast menu ideas..... I gotta switch my vote from lunch to Breakfast/Brunch. Remove one from Lunch, add one to breakfast.

So, changing Bill and Scott's vote, that puts breakfast/brunch ahead by at least one vote...

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting
Hey, Steve... has Jeff given you admin access to this forum? I was going to ask if we had a list of email addresses that you could broadcast to, then I remembered that PHPBB has that function built in.
What I'm getting at is that there are a lot of people who just skim the forum very lightly and/or very infrequently. Might be good to broadcast notices for things like this... things like "registration for the next event closes tomorrow", that sort of thing.

I don't mind if it's breakfast, brunch, lunch. or supper. I just really want to attend the event. Can you please post a date as soon as you can, so I can arrange to have the day off work if it falls on a saturday.

Hmmm ... "Brunch" isn't an option so every time I come here I change my vote from breakfast to lunch then next time change it back.

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting
Ok, here's the official plan:
Saturday, August 22nd. 11am until about 2 pm. Lunch. Ron Croft's place.
Season championship trophies wil be awarded and we'll have our "annual" "membership" meeting. We'll be discussing the general state of FAST, getting some ideas for the two days we have coming up in October at Brooksville; review plan to change the modified street tire class. Discuss the possibility of a "Pro" class; address any other issues the "members" would like to address. Everyone is invited, however if any voting is to occur, please remember that "members" are anyone who has attended 4 or more events in the last season.
Should be a great time - Ron's getting quite the reputation for his BBQ prowess (I highly recommend the Luau Burger). Everything to make it real will be provided, but BYOB. Hope everyone has a chance to make it. Here's where:
From Tampa - take exit 30 off of Westbound 275, take 118th Street West, all the way to Starkey intersection. Continue on through the intersection (now 118th is called Bryan Dairy) and take a Left at the second light (98th). continue south about 3/4 mile to 90th, and turn Left. 5th House on the right.
From Clearwater, take seminole blvd, Starkey, or Belcher South to Bryan Dairy. See above.
From St. Pete, take Tyrone Blvd to Park Street, continue N to Park/Starkey, continue N to Starkey/Bryan Dairy. See above.
9650 90th ave, 33777. Easy enough to mapquest too.
If we could have some idea of who's coming, it will be easier to know how much food, etc, to purchase. So, if you'll be able to attend, please post here or send me an email or pm.
