I wish I could be there for the discussions, the food and to get together with friends, but I will be bringing the RV - aka tow vehicle - back to Florida for the 2010 season. For most of the season, anyway.Native wrote:Saturday, August 22nd. 11am until about 2 pm. Lunch. Ron Croft's place.

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting
Would it be a parking problem if we showed up with our race trailer in tow? We will be heading to Gainesville right afterwards for a Sunday AutoX. If it is an issue, please let us know. We can pick the trailer up afterwards. Thanks, Scott

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting
No prob. Just park on the street. I'll have cones up blocking access to my driveway anyway, so we don't get the party area all cluttered up with cars.
I'd be up for a post-party drive/ride if anyone wants to hook that up.

Oops! I had it in my head that this was tomorrow! I spent today working on the race car. Probably just as well, we're a little behind on prep for a race that's only 2 weeks away.
Sorry I missed this. I meant to be there.

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting - Post Event wrap-up
A great big thanks to Ron and his family for hosting a great BBQ! Very much appreciated! I had my Luau burger - did you get yours??
We did have a brief business meeting, and went over the current "State of the Society" which is largely good. We reviewed the changes made to the street-tire modified classing for 09-10.
We voted on a the plan for dropping the lowest score when calculating season points - it's gonna remain at one drop score.
The Pro Class ( viewtopic.php?f=4&t=584 ) was discussed as well. No changes for the time being. We decided that Howard and Kenny are going to come up with a way to list everyone's PAX position in the results after the first few events, to give folks a chance to see how they might actually do in a PRO class. After 3-4 events, we'll revisit the idea, and see if it's generated any more interest than it has already. And we'll take it from there.
At some point in the future keep your eyes out for a discussion about awarding good/consistent attendance...
And we distributed the Season Champions' awards. THanks very much to Brian K. for putting together some really nifty framed certificates to go along with the t-shirts. And congrats again to everyone who won. If you were one of the winners and weren't there to collect your award, we'll have them at the next few events and you can pick them up.

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting - post event wrap-up
Thanks to everyone that came out - it was fun to put lunch together, and I hope everyone enjoyed it. For those of you that missed the cook out.... Grilled burgers, grilled corn on the cob, Smoked pork loin, scalloped potatoes, Corn bread casserole, baked beans, fresh fruit, homemade pecan pie, brownies, and drinks served out of the front end loader of a John Deere 4720. Hope we can do it again next year.

Re: "Annual" "membership" meeting - post event wrap-up
Great to see the "members" that showed up; and just like a FAST event, everyone that was there was happy to help out and had some input about our future events.
Can't thank you enough for having us over, you did a awesome job on the eats, and just as well a a host!! Hamburgers were fantastic and I loved the corn souffle, it was aces!! I'm a huge corn on the cob fan, and the corn on the cob off the grill was perfect, didn't even need butter or salt!! So 5 ***** stars to you!! Great job!!
YES!! Thanks again to Ron!! Loved the iced down John Deere bucket!!rcroft wrote:Thanks to everyone that came out - it was fun to put lunch together, and I hope everyone enjoyed it.
