$2010 GRM Challenge Miata?

Postby Spin Out » Sat Jan 02, 2010 9:53 am

I hear Mr. Tod Byram is taking a '94 R model Miata to the GRM $2010 Challenge.
And I believe he may actually think he can best my antique Merkur sedan. Silly boy.
Anyone see what won DSP in 2009... It's pronounced Mare Coor.
Let the trash talk begin. :)

In all honesty, I did see Tod's GRM Miata this weekend, and it looks pretty good.
He already has some ultra light wheels, and a Nitrous kit lined up, so it should do fairly well.
Good luck Mr. Byram!

Let me know if my brake lights are working. :)

Hunter Killer Miata.
Hello Kitty Merkur.
How about a Team Name of: HKM Racing?

I got the tires on the car. Thanks.
There is less than 3cm of clearance. Ouch!
I may need to break out the plazma cutter, or a sledge hammer.

Glad to hear you plan to lap me. How do you plan to triple your HP? :)
The trash talk contines.

The HK miata is cleaning up better than I first thought. 150,000 miles a little lifter noise at cold start, but with some polish I think it will look as good or better than the HK civic.

now I just need more POWER to keep up with spinout

The car was quite a score for the price Tod paid.
The prior owner, a lady, would have had to pay quite a bit to get it looking and running good again.
It was smart for her to sell it.

Tod did a heck of a job cleaning up the interior.
(Pretend you parked your car with the top down under a tree for a few months. Now you have to clean it.)

It is a re-paint, but it could buff out fairly well.
I only saw one small dent, and a couple of rub troughs. No rust.
And the rear plastic window is ripped.

I know he has bad arsed Rims and NOS lined up,
so now he just needs an exhaust (and a turbo if he wants to keep up with me. :)

I assume FAST has an under $2010 class.

Sounds like the Cutlass convertible my dad bought to restore some, oh, over 15 years ago. Sat under a tree with a rotten top for 2 years. I'll bet it was shedding leaves driving down the road!
