The Greek place in Brooksville is called Mykonos.
1740 East Jefferson Street
Brooksville, FL 34601-2759
(352) 799-3154

We've gotten pizza, and also sandwiches from them the past few times we've been there.
There's also Pappa Johns.

Even if delivered, they can't come in past the gate - they aren't on the entry list.
It's easier to just get someone to go get it.

Put me down for supplies. So how do we use the AutoX school credits? Mary and I will both be attending. Looking forward to it! :D

Jim and I who have raced the GT30 before will split however many runs there will be that day, Mark and Keith will both run a full set of runs.
We'll be so busy swapping drivers, and working on the car (hopefully not too much...), that we may not have time to work the course. Therefore Jim and I would like to sign up for "Tear down", and I'm going to tell Mark and Keith to sign up for something else, to free them up.
Since you're all registered, no problem. Mark and Keith are registered, too, but didn't put down a preference...tell 'em to send a note in, since I only assign those spots (especially the pre-dawn ones) to people who've committed to being there. I'll try and catch Keith tomorrow...I know where to find him during the day.

Will probably put two of you in one group and two in another, just to cut down on the delay from driver changes.
solar 90GT/03Si wrote:You can pencil me in for registration and/or trailer and timing set up, I haven't registered yet because I'm not sure of my scedule until tomorrow evening, so if I can get that Saturday off I'll get registered.
snookwheel wrote:Put me down for supplies.
When you get registered. This method's been working pretty well -- haven't been burned lately by anyone who volunteered and then decided not to sign up, and haven't gotten any complaints about not having a shot at those jobs. Plus it's an incentive for those who can to register early. I understand about schedules...I've had to hold off plenty of times, and I don't chalk myself into a job before I've registered. (No one ever volunteers to do the run/work groups, though. If someone's interested, I'll send you the spreadsheet and a list of the assignments when registration closes.)
snookwheel wrote:So how do we use the AutoX school credits?
There's a payment option for people with event credit -- just select that when you register. You each have two credits coming to you for working the school.

I'm officially in for class B for this event. Hope to have a tire trailer, but I may just be driving up on the 710's. I already can't freakin' wait! Alexis, all I can say about the course map is make it LONG. It's been a while since we've had a course over 35 seconds.

I thought the sandwiches we had in Decmber were pretty good. Seems like there was pizza, too. Was that Mykonos?

I'm still new to autocross.....what exactly is a Chicago Box. I heard there was one located on the course we just ran at SPC. Can someone tell me what part of the course had a chicago box, and what is it? Thanks!

It was the very first obstacle at the last event. Take a look at the course map and you should be able to spot it. It is in the shape of a half square with a single cone to maneuver around on the open side of the box.

I already designed the course, just waiting to hear back from Jamie. I tried to use as much space as possible. I'm more than willing to add in some stuff to make it longer, though. :D

I was able to get the day off so I'm now registered !! Jamie if the Trailer and timing set up is still open I'll take it. 8)

Any discussion about drying / cleaning out the trailer anytime soon? I can imagine with this warm weather, the inside is a giant Petri dish science experiment.

I think this is right...
The SCCA mandated minimum distances between cones in a slalom. Someone (from Chicago?) circumvented the rule by creating a Chicago box. So now they could make a slalom as tight as they wanted.

Thankfully no one here makes them tight, so they are really just a waste of cones.

Not a waste; they are a wonderful psychological barrier. That line of cones draws the eye and causes "target fixation".
The Jag complains about autoX by throwing Gearbox Faults.
I think it is just lazy.

That's right -- it was a way of getting around the minimum 45' slalom spacing. Might even have been at one of the early National Championships -- Chicago Region ran the second or third one. The SCCA revised the course design rules as a result, so that if it looks like a slalom (weaving through three or more cones in a line), it is a slalom.

Not entirely. There's some visual intimidation involved. And there's nothing that limits the depth of the box -- a shallow Chicago box can constrain how wild you hang the tail out.
