Pre-registration is full!
Of course, it doesn't actually close for another six days...anyone who cancels between now and then gets an event credit, and the slot will open up again, so keep an eye on the MAE entry list. Since this is SPC, we'll also start a walk-on list the morning of the event -- first come, first entered.
Just so it's clear: everyone needs to check in with registration before 9am -- if you haven't checked in by 9, you're a no-show and someone on the walk-on list gets your spot. If you're late, the best you can do is add your name to the walk-on list and take your chances. Understand that no-shows without a good excuse (usually involves broken machinery, broken bodies, or work) have made a much-appreciated donation to FAST. We'll send out an e-mail reminder for this one, so we don't have any misunderstandings...the registration crew will not undergo last month's abuse.
We could still use two volunteers to reset the police course and load the trailer. We had more volunteers for grid and timing than available openings, so check the list on page two for the known assignments so far. Those novices who expressed an interest in timing, we'll try to work you into watch an experienced crew. Last month stressed skills a bit beyond limits...my fault.

Re: May 16 - SPC
What Jamie said.
And as far as resetting the course and cleanup, while only two "official" jobs for the day count, we need all the help we can get at the end of the day cleaning up the trailer and resetting the police course. So if you find yourself there at the end of the day, wander over and give us some help even if it isn't a job assignment.
Please.
The more folks we get, the quicker the job - if it takes 2 people a half hour, it'll take 6 people less than 10 minutes. And, the more folks who learn the police course, and the "tricks" to loading the trailer, the faster it'll get done, and, the same people won't have to do it each time. It's not hard, it's just a drag.

Re: Pre-registration is full!
Well put. And the earlier you get there the better for everyone. Tech can get your car cleared, you can get registered, the course will be setup and you can walk it, and Jamie can get the run orders setup quicker. All this means a smooth running event that can go off on time. We all did great last month at Brooksville, let's do it again this month too.Jamie wrote:Just so it's clear: everyone needs to check in with registration before 9am -- if you haven't checked in by 9, you're a no-show and someone on the walk-on list gets your spot. Also noticed we still need someone for lunch. Any recommendations for lunch? Pizza is easy and can be delivered, but we do it a lot at SPC.

I can do lunch as long as it doesn't interfer with my timing duties. The easiest thing to do would just have pizza delivered, if you want to go that route I can place the order.
I'll most likely be there to help load the trailer at the end of the day, hopefully this time it won't be in ankle deep water Yellow_Colorz_PDT_06

Re: May 16 - SPC
Hi all!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking on the site for a couple of months now and finally decided to register for the May 16th event. I wanted to register sooner, but have had quite the busy family schedule this spring. I've had a little autocross experience, but it has been several years ago. The wife and I went to Bondurant for part of our honeymoon and I've been wanting to do it again. I've read through the FAQ's and think I am ready. The only thing I don't have is a helmet. Can one of these be borrowed??
Counting down the days,

Any properly fitting DOT motorcycle helmet will do. They do have loaners at he event, but you may have to share.

Lunch for future events.
I own a spanish restaurant in brandon. I know i can come up with some budget friendly options for these events. My only problem is we are closed on sundays. For saturday events i could make it happen. I have hot boxes to keep hot food hot until it is ready to be served. I dont know how well they will fit into my car...but if Adam Parke is going to attend im sure he could help me transport the food. I would make every effort to be there before 9am but it may be just after when myself and Adam get there..if he can help me. If you all wanted to go with is a cold lunch i would not need hot boxes or help and that could be done on a saturday or a sunday. Our cuban sandwich is 3.99 and they are awsome! Feel fee to ask me any questions you may have at SPC. I know pricing is important and i can work my numbers to make the budget work. Take a look at our web site http://www.LaSeptimaCafe.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I will do whatever it takes to serve great food to great FAST people. My catering number is 813-293-2048.
Thanks, R.J.

Sounds mighty interesting to me. RJ, if Eric doesn't want to take you up on it this time (no pressure, Eric, really) someone certainly will some SPC day in the future.

I could help transport food also if I can pick it up *early* (I have to get to most of the events I go to by 7am or so...).
I also need to stop by and grab a cuban sometime.

Parsons and MLK in Seffner. I could help carry food also, if I had a car that could carry things.

I live in Brandon and I've been to La Septima several times. The food is awesome! However, I will say an afternoon siesta is almost mandatory after eating there.
