Hey guys, I joined last month and just registered for the July event. I have never autocrossed before and wanted to know if there was an autocross class before the July event that I could attend. I'm really excited to autocross but I want some experience before the first event.

Thanks

I drive an 06' Manual Scion tC

Welcome!

Autocross is a sport dedicated to learning and teaching. No need for experience before your first event, just come on out. Be early. Be sure you're around for the novice course walk. Raise your hand at the driver's meeting when they ask if it's your first time. Ask to ride with other drivers. Ask for an instructor to ride with you.

We're well-equipped to take good care of you at any of our events. See you there!

Welcome to the addiction. Looks like a fun ride you got there. This is a great way to really have fun with your car. Good luck.

You'll have a ball. It's a great group of folks and anyone will be happy to share all sorts of help about the event itself, driving, car setup. Glad you'll be joining us!

Check out local pawn shops. If you know what you are looking for you can find some good deals. And remember, the sticker price is negotiable.

I picked up a NIB openface Snell SA yesterday for $80.

First glance I thought that said "I love pornography". Not sure what that says about me.

Welcome! See you next weekend.

Hello there!

Looking forward to coming out and seeing what all the fuss is about this turning left and right stuff. I am used to just pointing straight and mashing it. I regretfully have to work saturday so I will miss the SPC event, but I will be out in the future. Be safe everyone!

Hello all,

My name is Tim and after graduation i decided to splurge and get my dream car. I picked up an AP1 S2000 and i couldn't be happier. Since I got it i have done some upgrades and I have since competed in 4-5 autox's and I am looking forward to more.

Looking forward to my first autox on my new set-up! :-D

Hey everyone, my name is John and im looking to start autox soon. its always looked like a good time and ive wanted to try it for some time. I have a 240sx ive drifted around abit, but im tired of buying tires all the time and want to try something that has more structure than parking lot drifting lol

anyway, what steps do i need to take to start? are there any specific things i need to buy before i go?
any tips are more than welcome!

thanks!

Hi, John, and welcome!

First, read all of the Novice Tips pages here:
http://drivefast.org/novice-tips/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then wait for registration for the July event to open (should be about 30 days prior), get registered and go. That's all there is to it!

If you have any questions, start up a new topic and ask away!

In this case, it means registration for the 10 July event opens tomorrow night...they fill pretty quickly.
