POLL: Annual "membership" meeting and awards party

Postby Native » Thu Jul 08, 2010 10:18 pm

So what we're throwing around is sticking with "tradition" or doing something different this year. For those of you who haven't been around that long, the last few years, Ron Croft has hosted a BBQ at his place where we've done our "annual" "membership" meeting, and also had a little award ceremony for all the class Champs.

Ron's offered to make his hosting available again, and another idea thrown in the ring is to change it up a bit, and maybe get a private meeting room/corner in a restaurant somewhere (or something...).

Anywhoo, I've posted a poll to get a little feedback. The options ought to be generally vaguely clear.

Feel free to discuss otherwise...

Me! Me! Pick Me!

lol.

I've been (not) working on my car. I lost the directions on how to get to Brooksville and/or The Allstate Center. I've been saving the planet from the deadly (and evil) insurance adjuster virus. I've been perfecting my non-green egg cooking skills. I've been painting my tractor/drink cooler. I've been waiting on my $200. I just dug my way out of all of my 1st place stickers and shirts. I've been designing a course that is "suggestion" proof. I've been waiting for an event chairmanship to open up. My paypal account expired. I got my car running so fast one day that I lost six months....

AND......

I felt sorry for Kenny.

I'll be back to racing soon. dibs on the 2010/2011 season.

Tried to vote for "tradition" but it complains the form is invalid?

Am I the only one that thinks A/C might be a welcome change in August?

It's hard to get Ron's 'cooler' into a room with A/C.

Nah, I had the same thought. But, it's all good.

Say, would we want any background video action over the last year for the shindig? If so, I'll start a new thread for people to post their favorite videos from the 2009-2010 FAST season. I'll then compile them into one fun video!

Also tried to vote traditional, still invalid from gov't and BlackBerry. And if we do get this thing scheduled, requesting a date of no earlier than 11 August.

Change it. To hot in august. It's like leaving course workers out for too long.

You "change it" guys better lobby your positions at the July event. The poll goes for about another week, and so far "tradition" is way ahead...

The spot Ron uses for the annual FAST hootenanny is in the shade BTW. After another year of tree growth, it may be even shadier. And the food will be good.
I also am a big fan of AC, but a cookout at Ron's isn't exactly hot dogs and hose water in the blazing sun.

I voted for no preference, so I am good with whatever.

Ok guys; I have an option; tell me what you think. We can use Friendship United Methodist church’s Friendship Hall near the corner of Druid and Hercules for a small donation of say, maybe $75. This will give us full A/C, Full use of a commercial kitchen, big screen TV for fun videos, tables and chairs etc. One of our Impala brothers is an officer at this church and head chief and has offered to even help with food prep. cooking or what ever. Just an A/C option but I’m good with what ever you guys decide.
