What class?

Postby Lof8 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 11:23 am

I see the production class guidelines thread stickied, but my car is fairly modified. Where do I find the guidelines for the classes?
Thanks
Andy

Welcome, Andy.

All the classing info is on the website:
http://drivefast.org/event-info/rules-classing/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If anything isn't clear, just let us know what you've got and we'll figure it out.

The "Push Harder, Suck Less" philosophy explained:
Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

Thank you for the link. A couple of the links on that page (class by model etc) give me an error 404.
My car is an '87 bmw 325i. Its got street tires, some suspension work, and an engine swap from a '95 M3. Where does that leave me?
thanks again. btw, I've run with you guys before, I just don't recall the class I was in.

Dammit, I thought I'd fixed all of those links!

Okay, they are fixed now.

You should be classed either one class up from your car's Mod class, or in the class of your engine donor, whichever is higher. So, if the E30 is in E3, you'll go to E2... unless the M3 is in E1, then you'd go to E1. If the E30 is in E2, you're going to E1 regardless.

If it's been a few years since you ran with us, "E" used to be one class.
