June 11th Autocross at Brooksville

Postby Native » Sat May 14, 2011 9:41 pm

This event needs a chair...who will it be?
(I'll co-chair this event with someone...unless you want it to yourself, which is fine... 8-) )

edit: Brian K. and I will chair this event. We'll need the usual host of volunteers, and will gladly welcome any unusual ones.

Guys, you're wasting your time putting your worker requests here.

When you register, put your request in the appropriate place on your registration form. That's how it's done. That's how it's been done for a few years now, nothing new.

Just register early, and request what you want. You may or may not get it.

Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

Well the gate should be open by 7am, but I'd say to get there no later than 8, timing doesn't take that long to set up, but the "unofficial" part of the job is helping unload and get the inside of the trailer set up.

I should be there with the gear by 7:30, but 8:00 as Brian suggested is good. Just grab me and I can give you the run down on getting it all set up.

10-4, A new Sam's Club just opened 3 miles from my house so getting everything there should be cheap/easy.

When you say "a whole mess", I take that to mean we don't need anymore regular.

Well, it looked like an entire cooler full to me. So yah, some diet, but we also proabably could use some regular variety, like Moutnain Dew , Dr. Pepper, Tea, etc.

and yeah, Sam's has great prices on water - 32 pack for less than 5 bucks...

Thanks!

If you haven't figured it out, should you be starting? :)

Filling all the positions in advance reduces the flexibility to build run groups -- if two people end up in the same group, someone gets disappointed. (Ever notice you don't see two names from the same class signed up against those positions?) Could make it even more flexible with only one (or no) volunteer in advance, but having two groups worth insures there's at least enough key folks to run two groups...can't run an autocross (easily) with less.

Still need help to set up and tear down the course. Someone to tow the trailer. And someone to work out run groups and worker assignments...I don't own that, and don't put my name in until I register, so other experienced folks are always welcome to take a shot at it. For this event, I'll be out of town, so someone else needs to pick it up anyhow.

if i was as confident in being able to do it as i am confident in my car (sometimes to confident :) ) i would give the run groups a shot.. i know for the most part what they usually are.. i would hope someone would be willing to give me a hand also that morning sorting it out..

ill man up and take run groups but i cant promise i wont ask any questions while its going on
