Re: 2011 Season Champs
Anything someone would like to see on an autocross champion shirt? So far I can't stand what I've designed. I might have to go old school and breakout the pencil and paper.

Re: 2011 Season Champs
an evolution of last year's design?
(Eric - working on the list of shirt sizes - got about half of them...feel free to post these guys a deadline for if they want a shirt that fits. And you might want to fudge a bit to be sure there's plenty of time.)

For autox shirts, always like designs that show an active caricature of a car. Something sporty with fat tires, lots of camber, at full-tilt with an inside front or rear (as appropriate) tire in the air, etc.

Re: 2011 Season Champs
as long as you keep the big design on the back, and if one on the front, just a small one over the left breast. never was a fan of the giant, gaudy design all over the front as well

Re: 2011 Season Champs
Shirt design: I second the smaller front design. The larger rear design is well done, but I've noticed the 'plastic' backing makes the shirt a bit warmer than a smaller sized design. (minor point-I like the design)
As far as the car option, maybe put each winner's car on their shirt?
Or as yamaha said with a tweak...most people can relate to the traditional amercian sports car..red Corvette for everyone.
Seriously, congrats to all the winners and participants the same. Great time.

Re: 2011 Season Champs
Another of my favorites was a very simple design that was used annually for the classic "MirrorKhana" event for about 30 years. Just a monochrome outline of two very recognizable cars facing off (as cars do in that event) at the starting line. The two cars in this case were a Spitfire (the event organizer drove one) and an MG Midget. Very appropriate for its time. Now, perhaps something like a Miata and a Civic would be more appropriate?
Of course, going back to my original suggestion... you could combine that with an angle similar to your avatar and end up with a pretty generic "car" that really sends a powerful message. That would be cool.

Re: 2011 Season Champs
Yeah, I'm going to attempt a generic car, but based off a miata most likely. Something some what similar to what Scott posted, but with a couple of cones and a front wheel lifting. Haven't really drawn in a while, so this should be a fantastic project. Then I'll just colorize it via the computer. Hope to get it rolling and done by the end of the upcoming weekend.

I'm sure that what ever you have for a final design will be great, but will be debated and analyzed to death. But I will guarantee I will love it as long as the car is a 240SX !

Re: 2011 Season Champs
Ok - update time.
I still need shirt sizes from these guys, in no particular order:
Jamie Sculerati
Loren Williams
Brian Kollar
Lance Tavana
Mike Dassatti
If any of you know these folks, rattle their cages a bit, please.
I'm sure there's a deadline coming up (Eric?)...
As for the Annual "Membership" meeting and awards party, of those who have expressed preferences, it's looking like this:
Satuday the 27th - 3 votes
Sunday the 28th - 4 votes
either - 10 votes
We're not too far away from finally nailing down where and what we're doing, so if the date matters, make sure you lemme know.
