Gives you more opportunities to learn and adjust.
Just my 2 cents.
+1 from me
I do enjoy the enduros, but would like the learn/adjust method at this time.

2 votes for 6 shorter runs.

Maybe people can do some enduro activity on Saturday -- you're going to use the same course anyway, right?

I vote yes for the enduro. I've never seen a 100 second course.

Mary going around a few times! Plenty of time to correct things since the last lap is VERY fresh!

I wasn't going to argue the point, but this is true. Running one lap immediately after another is a REALLY good tool for driver improvement. If you're looking to dial in a CAR and need to make adjustments between laps, that's different. But, for DRIVER tuning, nothing beats multiple laps on the same course.

Since it's a points event I am more for the normal six short runs. Endoro sounds fun, but I'd rather stick to one 'different' event per weekend. However it ends up I'll be there both days and having fun though.

Ok no answer to my question about on the last page. Who can I email to get an accurate answer??? I would rather do the points day! If I can not change days. I guess I'll have fun anyway.

Patience. You asked a question that is best answered by just a couple people (mainly Jamie, as he handles pre-reg), and you asked it first thing Friday morning... people have work and often things to do on a Friday night.

Last I heard, registration for Sunday was full at 60, and we had 15 guests signed up. That puts us at our airport-designated 75-person limit, so we probably can't do anything. Jamie will know for sure.

Jeff - like it says on the event annoucements, "info@drivefast.org". It gets checked daily (usually in the evening).

Sunday's roster has been maxed out since the 3d, and the access rosters for both days have gone to the airport now, so unfortunately, no changes.

I'm not sure about running a Enduro on Sunday, though I love to run them, and I don't really care about if it's a points event.

My though/ opinion/ 2¢ , is changing out course workers "on the fly" might/possibly/could, be an issue. In past Enduro's, we ran with a small experianced group of drivers that knew well ahead of time what we were doing. You might/possibly/could also have the issue with a lot of drivers that don't read this message board and weren't prepared for this type event. And last, not sure how may novices we have at this event, but we also need to take that into consideration.

Personally, I don't care how we run it, as long as I get to go out and flog my car, I'm happy. :snicker:

Valid points, Brian. I was sort of thinking about the "not prepared for it" angle, as well. Folks signed up for a regular event, we should probably give them a regular event.

Ok.... How about Enduro optional? No points awarded for those who run two laps/three runs?

J/k, :rolling: if it is a normal event, it'll be great. but I sure would enjoy another enduro....

Man, you guys are just reading my mind!

I was consider making it an "optional enduro". I'll have to think about that some more. It would add a little time to the event (though not too much, as it seems that less than half are interested in it) and has the potential for confusion... but if everyone is on their toes (mainly the starter, finish flagger and timing), it could work. Yeah, any enduro laps would have to be scored as DNF... but, we could potentially make it an option for those who want it.

I agree that it would not be good to surprise people with the change in format. The time to change formats is BEFORE registration closes.

The optional deal sounds like a good compromise.

Question for those who feel like they can improve their performance in the enduro, how can you tell if you have improved on each lap, unless you have some sort of lap timer? All you get is one time for the two/three laps. Am I missing something?

You just "know".

An Enduro allows you to do something you normally don't get to do at an autocross. It happens at any track event you go to. After a few laps, you start to get in "the groove", you get comfortable with the course and how your car wants to drive it.

At a regular autocross, you go out with cold tires and a "cold" driver every single time. Granted, that's a part of the whole autocross game. But, if you're one who is struggling to learn where the limits of your car are without shooting past them, multiple back-to-back laps on the same course is priceless. It's like doing a skidpad exercise... even if you do it without a stopwatch, you learn a lot from it.
