So if a couple people cannot make it....hmmmm? Sorry for them but.......

Can we have a Christmas lottery for those 10 unused runs? Or donate them to those with STD (Slowest Times of Day) in their run groups?

Or we can sell them for $5 each and have a drawing among all at the awards ceremony for all that cash:) One way to get alot of cleanup help!!

You need to make that offer to Jeremy, he is the one who has guaranteed he'll get FTD.... BTW, Mary own's the Stalker, and trust me, she cost more than $50.00 ;)

Well looks like I'm going to have to run on the old garbage rubber... I can't get the security lugs off the car due to the key being stripped. Had a shop just try quick with a set of impact lug removers with no success. I bought a set and I guess try todremel an edge onto them and hope I can use my friends impact gun. :bangwall:

Oh and any suggestions please feel free to call... 727 494 4582

Hopefully you don't have aftermarket wheels with 12 tight locking lug nuts. Only 4.

This is assuming you can get a socket between the nut and the wheel? This appears to be the easiest other than having a tire shop do it or locknut dealer for a new key.

Removing Locking Lugnuts - Without the Key
By DoubleZero4x4

This idea came from a Corvette owner:

You need to get a 12 point socket that barely fits and drive it on tightly, 4-5 decent wacks with a ball pean hammer will do the trick. You have to make sure the slots in the socket bite into the lug nut. Use a manual lug wrench - not a pneumatic tool to loosen the lug. Slow even torque is the ticket. When loose the lug will be stuck tightly in the socket. Place socket in a vice and drive ilug nut out with a drift punch and repeat three more times. Then throw the stupid locks away and get some standard lugs from the dealer in town.

OR: A guy pounded on a 19mm socket and used a breaker bar to turn it slowly. Worked like a charm. Once the locking lugs were loose I simply pulled up and down slightly so that the socket would loosen up on the lug. Went to the stealership and picked up 4 news lug nuts and tossed the locking ones.

Thank you for the quick reply and phone call Doug! I'm sure my neighbors thank you as well as I was ready to go crazy with the dremel outside. :rolling:

Well time to get the new shoes on and go for a test drive just so I can see how it feels. See you all in the AM!

I apologize for the late posting, but Loren's informed me there are some new safety standards being implemented. As a result, I've done two things to meet them: I've flipped the course so it's a mirro image of the original -- the start is next to the green shipping container, rather than the finish -- and modified the slaloms so that only one car is maneuvering in the overlap area. Again, I apologize for this last minute change, but I just received this word tonight.

You're gonna have to move the trailer over then. I put it on the right side of the strip...

Yes, we will.
rojna wrote:Pointer cone by station 1 needs to go ...
Nope -- I put that there on purpose. Don't want anyone going on the other side of the cone and spinning off the pavement.

You need to talk to that guy who does our scheduling and see if he can pull any strings for you. :thumbwink:

As I'm sure some of you noticed, I didn't make it out there. Modern medicine has failed me and I feel like (insert creative curse words here). See you all in January!
