December 2011 - Post-Event thread
What? Nobody started a post-event thread yet? Okay, here ya go!
Great job by Jamie and Phil and all involved. In spite of the rain, I think everyone had a good time.

That was a fun course, can we shelve that one for a future (drier) day?

I agree! I would love a shot at that course in the dry! Had a great time today, even with all the rain. Thanks to all that made it happen. First time I've spun out at 20 mphblacksheep-1 wrote:That was a fun course, can we shelve that one for a future (drier) day?

Fantastic course and awesome lunch! Let's do that again for sure!!!! Couldn't had a better time, well unless I could actually beat my new arch nemesis Chuck! lol
Looking over my vids, I'm not positive, but looks like I don't get nearly close enough to the cones. Great, one more thing to work on.

Re: December 2011 - Post-Event thread
Another fun FAST event ! Great course ! Jamie and Phil did a great job chairing the event, just can't say enough about how well these events have been run.
Congrats to Drew for getting his first FTD, great job my friend !
Weather was a real bummer for the second and third run groups. But we can't control the weather and many thanks for the course workers that had to deal with the rain and pick up my cones.
Would seriously like to see that course again in the near future. Haven't seen a lot of slaloms and sweeper type courses out there in a while. I thought this course had a nice balance of both. Good job on that design by Jamie.

Results!
I believe classes M1, M2 and S3 ran in the first group, as did I (because I don't know how to read my own name, apparently). Everyone else ran in various shades of wet.

That would sure make it easier on the next Event Chair/Co Chair using the same design:) All ready safety approved too.snookwheel wrote:I agree! I would love a shot at that course in the dry! Re: December 2011 - Post-Event thread
It ended up being a VERY fun course to drive, but Dave and I have already discussed some things that we'd want to change about it for improved safety. So, while we're all for using this basic idea, it's not 100% automatically safety approved. (but if an event chair were to send it to us as their first draft, we wouldn't change much!)twistedwankel wrote:That would sure make it easier on the next Event Chair/Co Chair using the same design:) All ready safety approved too.
FWIW, I'm drawing up a design that is based on this one while it's fresh in my mind. (yes, I liked it, too!) My version will be stretched in a couple places so as to use the full length of the available space, take care of any safety concerns, try to eliminate some "clutter" and make it a little easier to navigate. Don't know when I'll use it, but I'll keep it in the cue.

Re: December 2011 - Post-Event thread
Anyone have a wheel they can donate for the trailer yoke?
It keeps getting heavier and heavier due to our age? Sometimes we have to move it a modest distance and that would be a great thing to have just in case.
Maybe that's all ready been beaten to death? But if not, it's a thought.

We don't need a donation. Price one and send the info to Steve. He's working on the 2012 budget right now.twistedwankel wrote:Anyone have a wheel they can donate for the trailer yoke?

And, I will be purchasing new pad locks for the trailer. What a PITA those cheapo spinny combo locks are. Looking at something a little more secure with easy number wheels.
