What is it with you guys? I thought Doug was the only one that started to look for a new car two months after getting a new car.
Chris, it seems like you've really got your car modded for impressive finish times. What in the world are you graduating to now?

Cars are like women. We never REALLY stop looking.

This appears to be a sweet ride upgraded and a good 5speed. Asking $5k make him an offer. Try $4200 as it's been on the list for months and he wants to restore a family 68 now. FLY in to TX Drive home.

Only 84k miles and a straight TX body. Wow. I sold my 84LX last year for $5100 in 3 days in front of my house and it had many expensive needs. A bone stock 86GT will do 0-60 in 6.2 sec:)

Doug

86 Gt Convertible

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Price.

I found one that I really, really want. Make me an offer I can't refuse.
If anyone is interested is seeing the parts list send me an email at deesman29@gmail.com. It shows every single thing done to the car.

NEW PICTURES!!!!

Ok y'all. My really wife hates my vert. She won't ride in it anymore so here it is for sale. I am in San Angelo, TX

86 Mustang GT convertible. 84k. I am the 2nd owner. I bought it from the original owner's estate sale. She bought it new in Ft Worth, TX in March of 86'. Been in Texas all its life. Original with a few mods.

What has been done in the last 6 months:

new belt
hoses
plugs & wires (BOSCH Plat 4 & MSD wires)
cap & rotor (MSD)
fan
fan clutch
water pump
thermostat
thermostat housing
original t-5 rebuilt w/Ford Racing rebuild kit (LRS part #M7000A)
Mongoose clutch (LRS part #LRS-7560M)
clutch cable and adjustable quad (LRS part #LRS-7553B)
firewall cable adjuster
all fluids changed
new tires
new brakes
flushed brake system
Changed rear diff fluid and new seal
BBK catless X pipe (LRS)
BBK CAI with fender filter (LRS)
American Thunder Flowmaster exhaust (LRS)

All of the work on the car has been done myself with the exception of the brake flush. I had that done by my local Midas.

The car is Dark Charcoal Metallic w/ light gray interior and a black top.

Driver's seat has a rip. Dash is cracked. Small oil leak.

I wanted to trade for a t-top in good condition, but had no takers, so now for sale.

I have a bunch of pictures on my profile. They are not up to date. They were taken when I got the car. I will take new picts this weekend.

I am asking 5000.00 obo for the car. I have put alot of time and money in it and don't really want to get rid of it, but if my wife won't cruise, what is the point?

I have literally put over 2300.00 of new parts on this car in the last 6 months. I can email an excel file showing what had been done with part numbers, prices, and where they were purchased.

Welded in frame rails are cheapest bang for buck improvement one can do if desired.

I've never done it as never increased HP to warrant doing it. 3100lbs isn't alot?

Hey it goes UP in value not DOWN like the top:) AND it holds 4 passengers.

BUT I'm partial. It weighs the same as my 4 passenger Rx8:) But with torque.

Chris, it seems like you've really got your car modded for impressive finish times. What in the world are you graduating to now?
I have had the car for 4 years and I love it...except it sucks when you can't get passed a V6 camry. I was thinking of adding a supercharger to the car, but then it's unreliable and needs a lot of upkeep on the supercharger setup. However I did test drive a vehicle about a year ago that I was really impressed with, but at the time I was still digging the whole "drive a slow car fast" thing. Now you're probably wondering what car it was that I test drove. I'll tell you how I felt driving it first, just to build the suspense a little. It was fast, but not useless fast. It handled almost as well as my miata does with the way I have it setup now. It brakes well. It looks gooooooooooood. I have decided that it's the perfect car...for me anyway. A Nissan 370Z with the sport package! Emoticons and smilies can't even begin to explain how much I am digging the 370Z. I would have to use these :lust: :) :D :-D 8-)  :snicker: :thumbwink: and these    :notworthy: :happyblob: :headbang: :bouncy:

Very much so. I'm going to test drive one on thursday, in Brandon, if they still have it on the lot.

Well? Did cha make the test drive? I love our 350, and I imagine that the 370 is better. Although, the visibility (as bad as the 350 is) looks like it has gotten worse.

The one time I was "allowed" to autocross the 350 it was fantastic, and that was completely stock with mostly bald tires.

Good luck.

Can't find a manual to drive with the sport pack. Brandon Nissan said they don't do test drives on the 370. They said they don't want to many miles on the car when they are sold. No one in tampa has one. The dealer in Hillsborough Ave said I could test a Nismo, so I plan on going today to do that.

Not to put a wet blankie on your efforts but two of the many car mags I now get for $5/yr stated the 370 overheated a bit during spirited hard track testing. Hope they resolved that by now.

Find a used one to test. There's got to be a couple out there somewhere. Too bad they aren't exotic enough for Disney or you could go there:)

Happy hunting.

I guess they won't be selling many than. That's bull.

Find a used one, they are in the 3rd model year now so they should be popping up. Sticks are hard to find, especially the roadster. The roadster works well for us "full figured" guys.

And, mod parts are plentiful, but not Miata cheap...

350s are easier to find, cheaper to mod and probably just as much fun to drive. And, yes, the finish on the interior bits chips and scratches off quite easily, but hey, think of it as weight reduction.

Just test drove the nismo. It was perfect, but there are some other factors about getting rid of my car that may hold me back. My dad loves driving my mazda, I'll be payment free in 2 years versus 5 with the Z, and I don't know if my current roommate (ex-wife) will hang around to pay her part of the rent for the house. So I decided to keep the mazda and see what the deal is in 2 years. If they still make the 370 I may buy it then or I may supercharge the mazda since there will be more reliability reports as to how they handle them long term.

My dad loves driving my mazda,

Sell Dad the Miata for $$
I'll be payment free in 2 years versus 5 with the Z,
If you sell Dad the Miata you'll be debt free NOW.

and I don't know if my current roommate (ex-wife) will hang around to pay her part of the rent for the house.

I will never bitch at my son for continuing to live with his ex-girlfriend for rent money again.

So I decided to keep the mazda and see what the deal is in 2 years.

NO NO. If you want to really drive a 370Z coupe when I was at Mazda dealer today getting air in tires rotated + oil changed I saw a 2010 370Z with 15k, white with black interior (sweet) but auto.....so (like you can shift that fast) you can drive it to see if you still like them? Call Darren McKethan @ 800-542-5889 and he will show you some love for a real test drive. Ed Morse Mazda Dealer 10133 Rt 19 in Port Richey. email darrenmckethan@edmorse.com if you are speech impaired or a texter. Hint, hint = Mazda dealer took one in trade and you have a what? Duh.

If they still make the 370 I may buy it then or I may supercharge the mazda since there will be more reliability reports as to how they handle them long term.

Supercharging a newer Miata is like blowing into a balloon. It takes your breath away for only a few seconds and then you realize it's still a Miata and continue lusting after the "other car"...hahahaha = that makes you Chris Baron seeking the holy grail.

Bad news is $33,900 for a two year old car but it still has a factory warrantee. It was a trade in and not a flood victim.

So Chris. Go drive the snot out of the "used white car" then rethink all this $33,900 stuff. I know where there is a sweet 06 Z4 coupe for less than $19k which puts you "out of debt"........"no need for a balloon fantasy"......

**Even if you buy a new 370Z and move into S2 "The Boys" have all ready informed me of low cost 9.5" light rims which will hold 285mm meats for my 2004 'used' Rx8 with no payments....so why bother? What must those 2012 370z's cost? $40k? OMG.
