Knock Sensor

Postby Solar » Mon Feb 13, 2012 6:58 pm

Not sure if this thread should be in another forum, feel free to move if necessary

My 240sx has had a bad idle for a while, I pulled a trouble code 34 that says the Knock Sensor is bad, makes sense. Easy enough.

The local parts store wants $100 + for one, and most online retailers want $70-$90 for one. Found a new KS made by MTC on a couple sites for $40 shipped, and bought one from a site I buy a lot of parts from for $38 total. Anyone use this brand sensor ?

I know most sensors are made by the same company; (kinda like Frito Lay makeshift Publix chips) just wondering if anyone has used MTC sensors, thanks. 8-)

Installed the new KS and it cleared the code, idles much better. If anyone has to change one in the future don't be afraid of using a MTC brand sensor. Just because its $60 cheaper than a "brand name" doesn't mean its a crappy part.
