Do people bring pop up tents and chairs? Coolers? I could bring my whole Fixxfest setup but I don't want to be the newbie that pisses the venue off by setting up a small village.
You can pretty much bring what you want--there's plenty of space to spread out. I think the only 'requirement' is to secure a popup tent if you bring one. Generally, you can stake one side into the grass, but unless you want to put your wife and kid in an ant-infested field, you'll want to put the other side on the concrete. In which case, you'll need a way to anchor it.
(I know there was some recent discussion about tents, but I'm not sure what the outcome was... :dunno: I suppose it was either "don't bring them," or "be sure to anchor them". Either way, I don't doubt I will be corrected if I spoke out of turn. :?

Weigh down your canopy so that it doesn't blow into somebody's car.

You don't need to bring a "village", you're only there for about 8 hours. You'll spend about 1.5 hours prepping your car, walking the course and in the driver's meeting. 1.5 hours in grid while you're driving. And 1.5 hours working course. That only leaves about 3.5 hours that you could potentially be under a tent. But, you won't be. You'll be wandering around talking to people. If you're a newb, you'll be out getting rides with people. You'll be out watching other people on course, maybe taking pictures.

If you bring a guest/spouse, who isn't driving, THEY might appreciate the shade to hang out under. (but if they're going to sit there all day... why not stay home in the AC?)

Me, I bring my car and a bag of tools in the trunk. I put on sunscreen before I leave the house. I wear a hat. And I almost always have a bottle of water in my hand to stay hydrated.

That happens A LOT around here. Get used to it, cause we all do it. It's like a family gathering, where we all talk over each other. :thumbwink:

If the topic is important, we TRY to reign it in, or split topics as necessary to keep things straight. A little rambling in an event thread is to be expected, though.

Hey, if any other FAST regulars who didn't get registered want into this event, speak now and I can help you get in. I'm going to open the last remaining spots tomorrow evening. Once they're gone, they're gone.

If anyone can't make it, couldn't register in time, or otherwise wants more autocross in their lives, the BMW CCA is holding an autocross event the following Sunday that a few of us will be going to. In case you didn't see it, here's the thread.

^^^ While I sure admire the enthusiasm and spirit, THAT is off-topic.

The Off-Topic section is fine, but please confine chat in a FAST pre-event thread to the FAST pre-event and stuffs related to it. 8-)

I apologize. On the topic of "awe shucks, I missed it," I thought it was appropriate.

So can someone tow the trailer (Brian's got enough to do, you know?)
Yes I do have a lot to do ! Just got a new car wash sponge made of steel wool and sand, more than glad to wash your car my friend

Did I read somewhere that Ed was towing the trailer ?

Thanks to those who have volunteered for to do things already! :lust:

Can we get an, "I'll tow the trailer!" from someone?
