I have driven through some incredibly dangerous stuff just now. I'm not trying to ruin a Miata. I'm going to sit it out until the streets drain enough to safely drive.

I'm sitting in the highest part of a parking lot. The water is just rolling by.

Drove home from Mark's earlier and the streets are not good. Lots of flooding. Even on the best (usually driest) way into my subdivision, there was water briefly up to the headlights. You guy's be careful out there.

I am so angry with myself right now for even leaving the house. I had to do unspeakable things to my car to get home (donut U-turn on a grass median to get out of a flash flood, fjording giant puddles) and now something is squeaking like a brake or some *sh. I got home at 20 til 6.

I was in someone else's vehicle I never would have made it either... hopefully it will fix itself once it dries.

Sounds like a brake squeaking. I will inspect them tomorrow when I play hookey from work.

You meant to say your throat is extremely sore and you feel something coming on after being out in the rain?

Amazingly, I made it there and back in the mighty Fred without issue. Well, Matt and I did park our vehicles in some kind stranger's driveway a few blocks from Howard's place when we saw a dude in a BMW up ahead of us stalled in 16" deep water. Fortunately, "new guy" Matt was following us and was confident that his VW SUV would get through it, so we rode with him.

Anyway, we got the trailer cleaned up, all the wet stuff is dry, moldy stuff de-funked, trash pitched. Thanks to the guys who braved the storm to come help! And thanks to the guys who TRIED to brave the storm... or at least considered braving the storm! We had enough people to get the job done.

Yup, thanks much to all who helped out (Matt, Matt, Loren, Howard and me) and to Howard for the use of the barn. Did it all indoors!
