Seats in stock?

Postby Jeremy » Sun Sep 02, 2012 6:58 pm

Doesn't anyone want to upgrade seats in a stock car?

As the recent purchaser of a car with horrible seats, there may be people upgrading seats for comfort only.

I could order a factory upgrade seat which would cost between $2-3K.
Or just get some regular aftermarket seats for $600.
So I can get "aftermarket" seats just by spending 5 times the money.
I imagine this same scenario can play out on multiple car platforms.

I doubt you are going to see people putting outrageous seats in a "stock" car.
It should be mostly "stockish" looking seats, if your car happened to be an s2000.

If you don't agree with this, it's probably cause your car came with great seats stock.

Within FAST rules (http://drivefast.org/event-info/rules-classing/), where does it say you can't replace the seat? Or is there something unwritten I've missed?

Funny you should bring this up. The classing committee discussed it, came to an agreement on what to do with it, and I completely forgot to include the change... and nobody else noticed.

I'll go add it in there now.

The new item on the exclusion list:
"Replacement of driver or passenger seats with non-reclining race seats."

(meaning that using something like a streetable reclining Corbeau is okay)

Actually, it was mentioned here on the forum when the changes were announced. I just forgot to change it on the website.

Anyone have any favorite reclining seats?

I kind of like these but I would need to try them out first.

Drew has A4's in his Mustang. I fell in love with them. I want a set.
