April 14 - Brooksville - Another Split Event

Postby Loren » Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:16 pm

That's right, we're going to try the split event format at Brooksville!

How can we split an event with only 65 drivers, you ask? Well, we asked the airport management if we could have a DIFFERENT group of 70 people in the afternoon VS the morning, and they said yes! As long as we don't exceed 70 people at any one time, and they know who all the people are as per usual, no problem.

So, we're doing 50 drivers in the morning and 50 drivers in the afternoon, just like we did at SPC. And we can allow up to 20 guests (but we're capping it at 15 to allow for organizer and key worker overlap). Managing the afternoon transition will be an interesting experience, I'm sure... but we'll manage.

Doug Adams, Matt Sullivan and Steve Frank will be handling chairman duties throughout the day.

Oh, and registration opens at 1am tonight.

Go pick your time slot and get registered!

No lights at B'ville for super early setup. Should be lighter earlier next month, but not much so.

Is the site in Brooksville secure enough to allow for set up after the test & tune the day before? That would make early set up super easy if that was the case.

That it is, and just about every time we've done two events in a weekend at Brooksville, the Sunday course was pretty much setup on Saturday, with just minor tweaking needed.

Whoo hoo, I'm in! Dyno day on Saturday (St. Jude Fundraiser event $40 for two pulls, see other events board), and autocross on Sunday. My kind of weekend!

Dammit. I got nothin'.

Hey, looks like those who expected the Late session at Brooksville to fill up first may be mistaken. Morning is still the hot ticket.

Registration is at 34/10 already.

Reg count is at 45/21 now. But, that includes guests and workers, actual driver count is: 37/18, I think.

So, still plenty of driver slots open.

And remember, if you're signed up for the morning, and you want to stick around for the afternoon, you MUST also be registered for the afternoon.

Well this is probably a one shot deal for setup due to a dual weekend event BUT yes I/we plan on setting up the course the day before (since I signed up to be a worker that day anyhow) and letting the Safety people check it out the morning of prior to chalking the cones. This will help keep us on the time table to pull this off and get the morning drivers off the set on time for the second Act. There will be no intermission.

I will have to borrow a f**** watch that I haven't needed in 7 years.....moan. :whip:
