Pleeeeeeze.........

My offer to "background co-chair" with any Event-Chair-newbie is still good.

I'm scheduled to be at "No Problem Raceway" in New Orleans instructing at a PCA track event that weekend, so I can't help... but I'll help Bill design a course!

Somebody better step up quick before we commit!

Sounds like a brilliant opportunity for a less experienced person to volunteer to assist.

I've seen next year's schedule, we're going to need lots of chairmen to cover all of those events!

Heck yeah!
Jamie, thanks. Let's see if there's someone willing to back you up/assist/learn how to do it.

I'd be happy to co-chair, being a newbie and all and wanting to get involved further in this since Ryan is going to be leaving us soon...

Only problem is I have a hard time waking up early on the weekends to be able to get to brooksville early enough from Sarasota LOL

Works for me. Change the title of this thread and let's get started. We can even make the scheduling work: it's no problem for me to be there at the crack of dawn to set things up; Meaty can take charge of packing up while I put my street tires back on.

Saw some interesting ideas in this year's SCCA Nats courses...and I had a few more while out at Brooksville yesterday. Should have something on paper within two weeks. Meanwhile, we're looking for volunteers:

Course Set Up 7AM
1. Aaron
2. Adam

Registration 7-9AM
1. Steve (Native)
2. Brian K.

Trailer Transport
1. W. Flowers and Bob

Timing and Trailer Set Up
1. Kenny?

Safety / Course Marshal
1. Loren

Supplies by 9AM
1. Charles

Run Group Calculation @ 9:10AM
Worker Assignment Chief
1. Jamie

Technical Inspection
1. 1307
2. Muddy

Lunch
1. Charles

Course Tear-down
1. MusicalDeity
2. Dave

And post this in all the normal places:

Sweet. Many thanks to Jamie and Meaty for stepping up!

Put me down for registration. I forgot to give out wrist bands last time - maybe I can get it right this time.

Ryan is goin back up to Joy-zee at the begining of November.

Apparently he needs to get back up there and put everyone in their place by laying the smack-down with some FTD's ;)

You can put me down for course set-up (I guess that means no late-night liquid refreshments the night before :D .)

...must...get...up...early.

My brother Adam is volunteering to help too. I haven't actually set up a course before, so I may need some help with basic grid measurements, etc. for B-ville. I'm sure it will be no problem.

I'll be there for setup also. The runway is 12' X 25' sections of concrete. Makes setup easy, just lots of walking.

Yep -- for Brooksville, you really can lay cones down just as they're shown on the graph paper!

It is, however, a good idea for us to not design courses that put hard apex cones right at the intersection of the concrete blocks. The corners of those blocks are pretty fragile. Much better to do our major turning in the middle of them if possible.
