November 9 - SPC

Postby Native » Sun Oct 13, 2013 10:22 pm

So, yeah, we're headed back to SPC, and Les Davis and I are chairing. We're getting going on the course, registration will be opening in a few days, and we'll need the usual slate of volunteers! Such as, first of all, the trailer tow?!? See y'all soon!

Oh, we have the equivalent of 3 cases of water and only a few odd cans of soda. I saw a full bag of marble dust, plus what may still be in the spreader.

Will this be another split event? And is it safe to assume that most (if not all) future events from here on out will be split?

Yes, and yes. With 100+ people trying to register for our events, all of our regular events will have to be 100-car events and the best way to do that is the split format.

Special events (like December's Duel, and if we do another Enduro, etc) will usually not be split events because they are limited entry and have special circumstances.

Just a reminder--We need AA batteries and ink for the printer.

Looks like I will be attending this one, can't believe I chose to see the Bucs game over the TBD event, never do that again.

Drew do you know the ink cartridge make and number ? I will be going to Staples next week and I can pick one up, should even get a discount using the business card. If we need printer paper I can bring a stack of it too. LMK.

Football over autocross... :dunno:

I'll grab batteries next time I go to Sam's.

Brian - the ink is HP 94 for black. 95 for color. One of each, or a combo pack if it's available. Thanks!

Going to see a good football team/game over autocross is a toss up. Bucs football game over autocross is a big mistake.

Will pick up the cartridges, and does anyone know if I need to bring some paper ?

We use about 4 sheets of paper per event. I think Ron's been "donating" it.

Except for the people who work on Saturdays, or have kids doing sports on Saturdays or whatever. We also have to work with site availability. TBD happens to be more available on Sundays, and also much less busy with their "regulars" on Sundays. The more conficts we can avoid with the regulars who are the life-blood of TBD, the better it is for us!

We try to mix it up and do some events on Saturday and some on Sunday. 8-)

Yes, I just restocked the paper in the printer case. No need for that, but thanks Brian.

FYI to all the Apple fans who are registering: There is a known bug in the registration process. I've notified the MAE folks about it several times, they know about it, but apparently can't seem to find the problem. It seems to mostly affect iPad/iPhone users. What it does is sometimes when you edit something in your profile, like to change your car or your work assignment preference or whatever, it will copy whatever info you changed to your NAME field. So, be sure to check the Entry List after you register or make any changes to be sure there's nothing goofy in there. Thanks!

Wow @ 10:30am Friday only 8 spots left in the Early Session.

If you snooze you lose at SPC for the AM bookings!

I'll bet it's full in under 24 hours. Still lots of bookings left in the Late Session at the moment:)
