About $90/weekend around here...not a deal-breaker.

well i guess we need to get a time to do some mesaurements and such for the insurance company requirements and see if it will actually work.... I beleive it will.

we may have to do a one time purchase of some nylon line and pvc (post of some kind) to use as a temperary barrier on one side but if we decide it is worth it (the site that is) we can reuse it there

Well, we did meet out there this morning. Site looks good - estimated about 500x300 usable area, really only two light poles to contend with; plenty of parking and grid room. Probably about 50% larger than SPC, I'd guess. A couple of access roads will need to be blocked from entering the lot, but that's no biggie.

I'll get the site submitted to K and K, and will post again with their response, which I can't imagine being anything but approval.

Good find!

it's always better to have too many sites, then you can start negotiating prices.

to be honest A large Parking lot is a major deal! I like the freedom of designing courses other then the typical back and fourth runway or tighter SPC courses.

speaking of which I need to call desoto Speedway.

And FYI K+K was good with the speedway autocross Idea if FAST ever decided to use Ocala or Desoto, it looks like the sites are groovy.

Don't kid yourself. 300x500 *is* SPC. You won't get a better course out of this site. The benefit of this new site lies in allowing us to diversify and have more sites to run at. In an age when autocross sites are lost much quicker and easier than they are found, having more options is always a good thing.

The "Push Harder, Suck Less" philosophy explained:
Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

The HCSO site looks quite a bit larger, hopefully we can get that one as well. :)

What ever happened to the Ocala Speedway thing for $500/day? You could run almost two events simultaneously there. Autocross in the parking lot and single laps on the track?
