FAST 2014 Championship Awards Party

It's Party Time!

Who: All the friends and family of FAST!
What: FAST Awards and annual meeting, pot-luck style picnic, Ron's Rice Race II, and an all-around good time.
Where: Philippe Park (Safety Harbor)
When: August 23 11am-2pm (or later)

Please pre-register for this as you would any other event, except this one is FREE! Just bring some food to share.

This will be a family-friendly gathering. Philippe park is well-shaded with nice playgrounds for the little ones, plenty of space for anything else, and we have a shelter with a great view of the bay and with restrooms nearby.

Please do take the time to register if you're planning to come. FAST will be providing BBQ, drinks and ice, and more depending on what other folks decide to bring. We need to know how many to buy for.

Yeah, we started our planning earlier this year, so I was able to get a better choice of shelter. I agree, it is the nicest view of the bay!

Sounds like fun, we'll be there. I disagree though, the best view of the bay is when we go there by boat! :-)

We anchor up there frequently on the weekends.

Looking forward to smoking up some pork butts for the party, going to be some good eats. I spent a hour today upgrading my smoker with new Nomex gaskets to seal up the lids. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's like fixing a water leak.

Anyone up for bringing baked beans and/or cole slaw ? Oh yeah, we need buns too.

Well you can put me down for 2 and posibly 3 . Haven't had one since I was a kid, I remember we would smack them against our bike frames trying to soften them up ( that's what she said ). You only had about a two minute window from being frozen solid until they were liquid, but the slushy time in between was perfect.

I will bring some baked beans as it seems no one else chose that as yet. It could be just me, or it could be that whole family. Isn't back to school time fun? Also, the girls and I are working on a new game for this year. One that doesn't involve running around in the lovely Florida heat.
