Sept 6, 2014 @ SPC

Postby Loren » Sat Sep 06, 2014 7:21 pm

My brain is fried. (more than usual) Can't think of much to say other than WOW! What a fantastic day. Things went very smoothly, we all got in 7 runs, got done about an hour ahead of schedule, lunch was incredible, and I got to spend the day with about 60 of my favorite people!

Ron should have the results to me soon, and I'll get them posted on the website shortly thereafter.

Another great event! Great way to knock off the rust before the season starts on the 20th. Loved the course and it was great to see everybody again, and meet some new people!

Here's my best timed run, think it was a 33.5
http://youtu.be/muXRb843B7k

This felt like my fastest run, and looks like it could have been my fastest since i was a little smoother in the last section. Still happy with my recorded fastest...hopefully it was enough to keep me in the top 5 overall.

Today's Fast lunch was the best one that I've had to date!

Also the driving was fun. ;)

First time going out. Had one hell of a blast.

Only bad thing is I had told myself that I was only going out there the one time to see what it was all about. Yeah, that isn't working to well. Already looking at signing up for more plus possible the novice class.

I had a blast!
The event seemed to be run very smoothly and everyone was very nice and tolerated my beginner questions.

I have never driven a car like that in my life and I can't wait to do it again ( on the 20th ). I'm glad I was on my old tires. Made the car interesting and I could feel the under and oversteer. My rear tires did better than I expected.

Watching others run was fun, it was nice to see just how good some people can get with skill.

Thanks to everyone that runs these events!

On a related note, next time I'm bringing my alternate set of shoes, the ones I like to drive in are not much fun to stand in.

I hear-tell it's not unlike crack.

Good to see you'uns for a change (especially That Guy)! And glad to hear folks were having a good time, and enjoyed the food. :thumbwink:

FAST is noob-friendly and happy to indoctrinate future autocross addicts.

Get your kit together-- driving shoes, cone-shagging shoes, spare pair of socks, rain gear, sunscreen, tire gauge, inflator, snacks, etc and dump the lot in an autocross bug-out bag so you're ready to go on race day.

Keep coming back. It works.

Great time yesterday! Sarah got a bunch of pics from the late session...I'll get them posted up soon.

It was great to see the familiar faces and also great to see so many new and fresh faces. I think yesterday's late session had as many FRS/BRZ's as miata's.

This was a great course for a classic. It allowed for quick release of the next car and there were not too many trouble spots with cones (which was nice with many first timers).

Here's one of my runs (not my best).

Those results were very interesting to say the least.

More than a couple people are still sorting out their cars for sure.

Impressive competitive driving at all levels.

What a great day to kick off the new season. I think we lucked out with the overcast sky in the early session, fun course and lunch was perfect. Just a little sore Harry's Lap Timer jipped me of my run videos.
Quite pleased to have slipped this big girl into the fastest half of the standings. Hopefully , this will be a season of continued improvements.

Thanks to the organizers and volunteers!
