Re: Jan 17 Championship Event at Brooksville
I try to publish a course map at least 3-4 days (usually a week or more) before the event. The files are hosted on the website, so if I've posted it, it will always show in the Course archive on the website. And when I upload the files, I post notice here and on Facebook.
The course for this event is based on one that Chris Meier designed in December 2012 and is presently out for review. Should be ready in a day or two.

AWESOME!!! I'm registered!Loren wrote:Now that you have an account, indeed I can!Shifterracer wrote:Hi Loren, could you also update my account? I believe i have a credit from having to miss the December event.
Done.
Glad to get back out there...and with some new tires (yes already). I'm giving the RS3's a shot this time...maybe they will last longer than 6K miles. I'm also trying to talk a co-worker into coming out in his SRT-8.

Re: Jan 17 Championship Event at Brooksville
The Late session of this event is now full, but there are 20+ openings in the Early session.
Full means FULL, no more drivers. Don't ask for an exception, it's not going to happen. Unless you see that someone has canceled and the Driver count is less than 54, the answer is no!

Darn, I should have just signed up, if I see someone cancel can I ask to switch ( guest / run instead of run / guest ) if it's before the deadline?

As long as it's before registration closes, you don't even need to ask. Just log in and change your registration.
If there's an opening, the system will allow it. If there's not, it won't.

BTW, I forgot to mention that this course is a revision of a course that Chris Meier designed. It was run in December 2012. I think I changed over half of it, but you can probably see the resemblance.

Mine is too. At least it should be after all the work I've done on it the last 5 weeks.Jeremy wrote: The 240 is ready to eat.

I like this course I think. But they always look easier on paper and during the walk than behind the wheel.

Yup, I've found that the course map is a good "guide" for walking the course, but most course maps don't translate well to the actual onsite set up course.NervesOfThrill wrote: But they always look easier on paper and during the walk than behind the wheel.

Re: Jan 17 Championship Event at Brooksville
Our course maps are about as accurate as they can be, and we typically deviate very little from them unless we have to (like when someone parks a tractor in our way or somebody goofs during setup and we don't catch it early enough to have time to move the whole course to match the map).
But, there is certainly a lot of "nuance" that can't be included on the course map. When the cones are about 4 feet in diameter on the scale of the map, it's hard to show precise placement!
This is a pretty "easy" course, though. I was aiming for something a bit looser this time. I was actually considering doing a "no slalom" course, but this course of Chris' had one in it, so I left it.
It'll be fun!

Re: Jan 17 Championship Event at Brooksville
Is the Camaro Z28 that is registered for the early session in the correct class (S3)? If it is indeed a Z28, shouldn't it be in S1 with the likes of a Boss Mustang?

Re: Jan 17 Championship Event at Brooksville
Well, as of right now, our class list doesn't call it out as a special model. But, I just did a quick look and the 2014 Z28 is a pretty special car. (no radio, no AC, no trunk carpet, etc, etc) SCCA has classed it in AS rather than FS. That is significant.
This has nothing to do with the name being Z28. Pretty much every other Z28 has been a street package. This one is clearly not. And it has nothing to do with comparisons to various Mustang packages. This Z28 is what it is, and we weigh what SCCA does with classing, especially when they're bumping a car UP in class.
I'll talk it over with Steve.
