Feb 15 - Championship Event at Brooksville

Postby Loren » Fri Jan 16, 2015 9:43 pm

This will be #6 of 11 events in the FAST 2015 Championship series. We're half way there! 8-)

I've given up trying to predict when an event will or won't sell out. But, our last Championship event was completely filled in the Late session and 8 entries away from it in the Early session. If a bunch of the January newbs come back for another taste, this event could be much the same... or there could be even more entries. So, do yourself a favor and don't wait until the last minute to register!

By the way, we've brought back the Dual Entry discount. If running one session at a Championship event just isn't enough for you, you can double your fun and register for both sessions for just $60!

Anyhow, this is a Championship event, so it's open to all licensed drivers. Novices and first timers are welcome. Y'all know the drill. And if you don't, just read the event info page below!

Quick registration question..

When I signed up for an event the first time with MotorsportsReg.com one of the questions was work assignment preference. This was not prompted during subsequent event registrations and I can't find the field in my dashboard or anywhere else.

Am I missing something? Or was this a one-time deal to state a preference :headscratch:

Addressed here on the Registration Tips page.

Look at the part about User Profile and Club Questions.

OK, Not having much luck. The reference you posted shows:

When you want to view or change that information, do the following:

Click “My Account”
Click “Edit My Information”
Click “Edit Clubs”
Click “Edit” next to the FAST club
Edit and Save!
Info stored here includes:

Club Member Number (we don’t use this, but it’s built into the system, so it’s there)
Driver’s License Number
Date of Birth
Work Assignment Preferences
Physical Disabilities and Limitations

But, when I follow these steps through to clicking "edit" next to the FAST club, I don't get an option to edit my info.
The only field is asking for a FAST member # ( if you have one, otherwise leave blank).
Then below that: "save membership" or "delete this membership"
I can't get past this point. Neither of the options let me edit anything. I tried entering the race number I originally registered with but it doesn't help.

Any ideas? :thought:
Thanks,
Dan.

I had to do some testing to figure this out. For some reason, if your member type is "novice" (which is the system default), it doesn't let you edit those fields.

From the admin perspective, it's handy to have novices marked with the member type "novice". So, I don't want to just go changing that all willy-nilly. I may be able to find a work-around when I have time.

So, after you do your 6th event, I'll change your member type to "driver", and you'll be able to do those edits. If you want to change them, PM or email me and I'll take care of it.

Thanks Loren,
That makes sense, I was :bangwall: trying to figure out where to access that info.

I feel much better now realizing it was because I am too much of a n00b to have these priveliges :hide:

Not intentional. I want everyone to be able to edit them. Will work on a work-around sometime this week. I had no idea it worked this way... or why it does. I'm sure there's a reason for it. Some organizations probably don't want people who aren't approved to be able to edit stuff.

Good luck Dave and Doug,

I'm going to be out of town for my annual ski trip, so will be missing the Feb event. Can't wait for the March event, to see if I can catch up to the new competition in S1!

The lengths some people will go thru to get better at slaloms :thumbwink: If you put a 5lb weight on the back of each ski it will help you drive the Porch too :whip: Enjoy your trip. We'll still be here when you get back.

Here's to hoping we find a place next weekend and don't have to go back to NH the weekend of the 15th.

We're headed to Whistler-Blackcomb this year. Should be awesome! North America's largest ski area + forecast is for 3+ feet of snow between now and Monday!

Tampa has the US's largest ski club. They do 20+ trips per year, and are branching out into bike trips and other off season areas now. Great group, lots of fun.

Info on Whistler trip is at http://www.tampabaysnowskiers.com/2014- ... stler.html

Good luck at the Feb event, see you again in March.

I would be most appreciative if the rest of M2 would set the same goal. (Except me, of course. )
