New sneakers.
I dumped 20 lbs of rotational/unsprung weight from the spyder today. Also will be running new wider/stickier tires. (still street tire legal) should be fun, hopefully I can tame the drifting a bit and the car should feel more responsive.
Bring on March 14th!

Re: New sneakers.
Those are sharp wheels. Joe (I think it's Joe) has a black set on his Miata.
The tires are great. The first few events they'll shed some rubber in little dreadlocks, but don't let it throw you. Once the soft stuff comes off, they're good all the way past the wearbars. I got a good 15 events or so out of my set. They reward smoothness and finesse.

I saw the set on the Miata, but forgot the drivers name. I have been after this wheel tire set up for a few months, but they were back ordered.Native wrote:Those are sharp wheels. Joe (I think it's Joe) has a black set on his Miata.

I'm not sure I possess either smoothness OR finesse. lol

those would be the "loan your car to a better driver" brand. I heard those are on back order though. I really could use a set myself.BrilloHeadBen wrote:Which tires reward ham-fisted sucking? I need a set of those...

Re: New sneakers.
they are back in stock to...fyi. you can only get them at tire rack and Goodwin racing. I think Goodwin is cheaper.Inspecta wrote:Good to hear!!!Professional_Slacker wrote:yes and yes.Inspecta wrote:Ohhhh, those are the wheels I want to order as soon as they are back in stock on tire rack!!! Autocrossers don't let other autocrossers use scissor jacks. I can loan you some money for a harbor freight aluminum jack if you are going through hard times.

Re: New sneakers.
lol.my brother yelled at me too. we have like 3 3ton jacks between us ( he lives at the end of the block) and I used a scissor jack that was laying in a box-o-crap outta my jeeps. although my reasoning was I didn't feel like pulling the cover off my other car to move it and the jack handle would have hit the car. so, I scissored it up, and practiced my F1 pit crew maneuvers. it's amazing how fast you can change a tire when you have over head air and a plan.Jeremy wrote:Autocrossers don't let other autocrossers use scissor jacks.
