Actually, it's a fairly short one. Being so close to Christmas, we weren't sure how many entries we'd get, and we didn't want a long spread-out course without workers to support it. Up until just a few days ago, we had less than 25 entries. As of today, we just topped 40. Good number for a "Classic", but still doesn't give us an abundance of workers over 3 groups.

I might add a few feet to the course and add in a 6th work station, though. Was trying to get by with 5.

I almost posted the course map last night. Then I decided to sleep.

Okay, we added a fun cross-course sweeper to the far end of the course. Should be a nice course.

Here's the map:

Those are team strategy points! Is it worth the risk, or not?

Is that an optional turnaround? Berry interesting. Is there a difference between the bright red line and the faded red line besides just the way out vs the way back?

Looking forward to seeing how used Hoosiers with no camber and stock suspension end up working on a heavy FWD car...Hurray for uphill battles.

Optional first slalom. Optional turn-around. Red line is the return side just for clarity.

Hmm, increasing slalom so no need to be fast at the entry. Look at the turn around exit to decide your entry.

I still can't believe this event sold out. With all the usual shopping, family stuff, office parties and everything, I didn't expect more than about 30 entries.

Looks like we're going to have teams of 6 drivers with skill levels evenly distributed for good competition. Each team will randomly choose their "ringer" from the pool of "fast guys" to keep that aspect fair and unbiased. From there, it's down to the drivers and each team's strategy!

Yup. You can choose not to turn around until you reach the far end of the runway.... ;)

Sunny 66F means ram air HP and fast times. I smell another battle for FTD in the wind.

Would love to watch this event. Maybe I'll send over a stealth Christmas Drone painted sky blue:)

Will be another Great Day for Racing at Brooksville.

wish i signed up, but that optional turn around looks interesting, looks like it could test that long debate I read on autocross buddies about how to take a turn around faster, but with the element of not hitting that green cone

Teams of 6 + 1 ringer or is that 6 total including the ringer?

Also it should be noted that the race tire guys are going to have some issues getting heat in the tires so not much of an advantage there.

Should we expect to see teams posted before the event?

Excuses already?! 66 degrees isn't exactly glacial...that's a summer day at Laguna Seca! (Or Candlestick Park, if you want to stick to autocross events.)

Better to leave your sunglasses at home and claim the sun was in your eyes.

Except it will barely be 50 by 9:30 when we start. And we will be sitting for I'm assuming 30+ minutes between runs so all the heat we gain will disappear by the next run.

Plenty of time to mount up some street shoes before the event. You know, if the race tires are too much of a handicap and all...

Male dogs and cats are not allowed as they pee on the tires and keep them from freezing. :pointlaugh:

It's ideal for this event. The short path "should" be faster for most cars, but only if you can execute it properly AND not . The wider path is much less risky. Could play into the strategy of what your team needs on any given run.

Trevor, you're over-thinking this. Does it really matter if teams are 6 or 7 drivers? They are what they are.

And, no, there won't be 30 minutes between runs. This is a FAST event. There will be a max of 18 cars (3 teams) on grid for each run group. Should be a pretty typical 8-10 minutes between runs.

Relax. Don't over think it. Coaching the other members of your team to turn better times is going to pay higher dividends than worrying about how much heat you have in your tires.

All I know is this is going to be awesome! Great weather, a fun event(non-points), cool people, lunch, and some playful trash talk! What more could a person in Florida at an autocross ask for? I'm freakin pumped!!!!!!!!!! :thumbwink:  8-)   :blackeye: :dunno:  :headscratch: Oh and of course the not worthy :notworthy: to Loren for the great idea and setting all of this up!
