Jan 30 - FAST Classic - Tampa Greyhound Track
Join us for our second autocross at the Dog Track!
This is a Classic event, which means fewer entries, more runs and no formal novice instruction. We do require all entrants to have competed in at least 3 prior autocross events so that they sort of know what they're doing.
Registration is open until January 25th, but you know how it goes. Sometimes these events fill up early.
Guest registration is not required unless said guests want to partake of lunch with us. We won't buy lunch for you if we don't know you're coming!

Re: Jan 30 - FAST Classic - Tampa Greyhound Track
I won't be able to make this event, as I will be working that morning. But since it's an 'open' venue and realively close (as opposed to Brooksville) I might head over after work to say hello and enjoy watching a few runs

Winter in Florida is a fickle thing.
I really need to get started designing a course for this event.

I hope its "wintery." Otherwise, STEVE will be struggling with tire grip consistency since he will be co-driving the S2000. Got to love the Conti DW's.
now to prepare myself for the embarrassment of getting beat in my own car lol

Re: Jan 30 - FAST Classic - Tampa Greyhound Track
Mike co-drove my RX8 last Sunday (as his car was on a truck coming South) and is a VERY competent driver. He runs STF like Soroya. Considering his Insight is somewhat off the wall it probably has a low CG? He was very impressed with Soroya's driving in her Fit which is the same car sans electric motor and battery pack. He's having it trucked down here so maybe a crazy machine??? Or tires not drivable in snow? Soroya beat me Soundly that day so I'm thinking Conti DW's will not be the best pick until the W is worn off the tread or it's pouring down rain. 10/32" tread does not a race tire make and they don't seem in any hurry to wear out either.Rpwolf wrote:Also, im looking forward to seeing the Honda Insight that registered.

Doesn't matter if you're laying down or standing up...you're going to be run over....Inspecta wrote:I'm looking forward to laying down in S4!!!

Laying down... interesting tactics. I guess it might help lower the car's center of gravity but seeing the cones will become a challenge.Inspecta wrote:I'm looking forward to laying down in S4!!!

I really want a small economic car and put huge tires on it and see where I place. I saw the Versa didn't do so bad in the times at the last event.
(Edited because my I hate my phones keyboard)

So?
Does this place have clean restrooms like the horse track?
So my wife can come there. Or not?

Re: Jan 30 - FAST Classic - Tampa Greyhound Track
Sorry, Doug, it's more like Brooksville in that regard. There are plenty of places nearby that have legit restrooms, but on-site all we have is a portable.
