FAST Open Autocross - Oct 8 at TBD

Postby Loren » Mon Sep 19, 2016 1:18 pm

We're back at Tampa Bay Downs for the last time until next summer. Don't miss it!

Registration & Event Info

We always see a good turn-out at TBD. From casual autocrossers we don't see often to first-timers taking advantage of a closer location. You should expect this event to sell out, and thus you would be wise to register early!

Basic event details:
  • This is a FAST Open autocross, that means that it is open to all licensed drivers.
  • Novices and first-timers are encouraged to enter!
  • Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all Drivers.
  • Guests only need to register at this location if they intend to have lunch with us.
  • Driver entry fee is $38.50, guest entry fee is $7.
  • This will be a split-format event. You can enter the Early session 8am-12pm or the Late Session 12pm-4pm, or both.
  • We WILL be serving lunch for all drivers and registerd guests!
  • Tampa Bay Downs is one of the few places we autocross that is family-friendly. They don't need to register, but they can hang out in "Racetrack Park" with a great view of the course.

Unfortunately this event falls on a holiday weekend. I'll be hiking and biking in the Smokey Mountains. See you in November!

^^^ Since you won't be needing it, if I promise to be really careful, can I borrow your car?

Might be worth showing up a little early to see the 2 new FoRS go at it against Carl's proven bimmer. Tang(not the orange drink) vs Lineberry (not the dingle) vs Carl (not the tire guy). Maybe an Sti or Evo or Vette or S2k will show up too? See even S1 can be exciting sometimes. At the moment they all get stickers (not tires).

If Tim shows up I think I'd put money on him getting street tire FTD tho' no matter what class he's in.

Soooo, Dan (not the quick one) in the Mazda (not the Miata, MX 5 or Eunos) signed up for the afternoon session. I've got the Koni yellows and the RE71s (not Philip) ( so no one cares). I'd like to be in the morning session- and be ready for set-up (not that this is a set up) but I have to go to the "W" place Saturday morning. (Someone's got to keep the wheels of industry turning). At least I will be there in the afternoon to get my ass kicked by all the S4 regulars!
Have fun this weekend, I'll be cheering you on from my economy seat on the way back from Europe ("W" Place again) - ridiculous as it is to say I'd rather be on a concrete runway in Brooksville :tears:
Oh and I had to sign up for the 8th since I somehow made it to poster boy on the registration page . Now let's see if I can live up to the kudos (not Eunos).

Every time you use the plane shitter and give the blue flush it will be just like Brooksville (sans spiders). I think Brooksville's shitter is bigger and has air holes at least.

I can do you one better. The Festiva was sold in Japan, Australia, Europe and other places as the Mazda 121. Meh. But, in Korea? It was the Kia Pride! Yeah, baby. Pride!

Ready! Also, I have never had a chance to pick up a FAST decal after all these years. Are there any available out there?
