Registered

And I can even bring a FWD car for Loren just in case. It's underpowered-ish.

Dave, I want YOU to practice in something very refined, with electronic everything, ABS, and gobs of torque. I think that would be best. (for me)

haha I only own one car with ABS. Well the truck might have it, haven't ever pushed it that hard. I just assume it works in the Fukus.

I am used to torks these days though.....

Plus y'all are seriously overestimating my ability. I'm shooting for mid pack. Although I will have 2 autocrosses of practice, one nighttime DE and one daytime DE to practice before the 17th... :thumbwink:

I've shared a track with you, I know you suck. :whip:

Lineberry... not so sure about him. :dunno:

We've got 10 FROC entries already, and not a slouch in the bunch. This will be interesting!

I've never driven a car lIke the fastiva, let alone in any sort of performance setting. But $20 just to get a chance to drive the damn thing is worth it to me. If I don't embarrass myself it'll be an even better day.

Isn't strapping into the FASTiva embarrasing enough?

In the interest of good sportsmanship, we'll have a FROC driver's meeting and tell you guys as much as we can about basic FWD technique (for those who don't know), and the quirks of the FASTiva. Y'all will nail it. Well... some of you will.

Floor it, keep it floored, turn a few times, understeer? lift!, floor it again. rinse. repeat.

Odds that the FASTiva will end up on its roof?

35%.

It's got a harness tho. It'll be fine.

Nah, Ben has tried. It had its scary, tippy, unstable iteration last year. We're long past that.

Why aren't you registered yet, trash-talker?

Help Help Sponsor

Postby randalllindner » Tue Nov 22, 2016 10:40 pm

I need a sponsor for the Dec 17th event. I have attended 3 auto cross events since September. My biggest problem is that I work in Costa Rica and my time in my home
in Bradenton Florida is limited and does not allow me to run as often as I
would like.

In my younger years (from age 15 to 25) I had a lot of experience in
competitive driving. I was sponsored by Frontier Ford in Oval dirt
track stock cars and B fueled Drag racing.

The only reason I have stated the above is because I have only been
able to attend 3 autocross events with my first being in September in
Orlando and in short, I would like to attend the Dec 17th event.
It is my understanding that this event is a Classic run and I do not have the 5 events needed to participate.

Looking at the Fast events calendar and my work schedule in Costa Rica,
this is the last possible events that I can attend until April or May of 2017.

If you are a coffee drinker, will be glad to bribe you with a few bags of the best coffee from Costa Rica

Be happy

Guess to even the playing field in FROC - Steve, Loren and Ben need to take their 3 practice runs in RWD's with skinny tires and loads of HP?

I haven't been in the top 20 at any open events in a couple years BUT if you run short of victims I'll man up as the "last guy". Doesn't look like that will be a problem :thumbwink: Should be a lot of fun watching people hit cones over and over while smiling themselves into stupidland. Ron has a great chance at winning this without walking the course even.

Someone should hang a pair of pickup Bull Balls on the back of the Fastiva so the real men will feel at home.

FAST Classic - Dec 17 w/ FROC competition

Postby Loren » Thu Nov 24, 2016 10:26 am

On this day of Thanksgiving, I have something for you FROC types to be thankful for.

We just bought a parts car for the FASTiva. It is a running and driving car, I drove it home from Sarasota. Be very, VERY thankful that we're not sadistic enough to do the FROC in this car! Dead shocks and struts all around, but the right front is so bad that it has a hair trigger. The car will drive straight and be okay until you hit a little bump, or initiate a left curve, or the wind changes direction... then it COLLAPSES instantly and the car pulls violently to the left. Every shift was an adventure! Driving over 45 was terrifying!

No. You won't be competing in that. You're welcome. (although it would be freakin' hilarious to watch!)
