2017 Season Points Discussion

Postby jev61 » Thu Feb 16, 2017 6:17 pm

Loren and Tyler will have to duel it out in M3 at the next points event as Sara and I will be slaloming in Colorado that weekend. However, I am confident that once I return, Tyler and I will put an end to any possible 3 way tie for points again. :thumbwink:

Crap, now they are teaming up against me! And I don't even have a running car!

Season Points are updated. We're far enough into the season now that I went ahead and included the Estimated Drops. That makes a lot of classes even closer... and flips some positions around. It ain't over yet!

I'm not sure I understand the drops. Using Ben as an example, as he was one who gained a position by drops, Why did he only drop 6. I was thinking 12. Can events you don't attend get dropped, thus he is dropping a 0, along with the two 3's, that isn't on the points sheet?

Ben is dropping a 0 and two 3's. Total of 6. A no-show counts as a zero drop. Anybody who's missed 3 events has zero drops. (and that's why I greyed out their drop column... they're not going to get any drops, and I don't need to look at them again)

The whole point of dropping events is to equalize things for those who have lives and might miss an event every now and then. You can miss 3 events, and... assuming you finish well at the events you do attend... still finish well at the end of the season.

In other words Jason- win the events you attend, and don't miss more then 3. It's that easy right?

Season Points have been updated. Things are still VERY interesing in almost all classes. If not a battle for first, certainly big question marks hanging over 2nd and 3rd.

Only 3 events left, so I greyed out anyone who hasn't done at least two events, as they will not qualify. Narrowed the field quite a bit.

Fun fact... it is possible that the Meucci's could knock out a 1-2 finish in their class just by showing up at one more event! S0 has been pretty light this year.

Very likely that the next event will tease out the finish for M2!

I believe M2 is pretty much done deal with the number of firsts Joe has. (Also don't see him slowing down soon either)

S1 is all wrapped up, just not enough consistent competition this season it looks like. (Gotta show up to have a shot)

The top spot in M2 is a known quantity; however, if a couple people suck it up (ehem - yours truly), the battle for 2nd and 3rd might be in forecast as well since we're all squabbling over the crumbs Joe leaves us.

My Dr. just bought a never titled Z-28 2015 model from a local dealer. He saved about $30k+ waiting them out for rebates and discounts. If one fears no payment anything is possible anymore? His insurance went up about $100/month from his 2010 SS and it only gets 11mpg avg. feathering the go juice:) 550HP and track ready on lots of pump gas. He had to put on a set of Hankooks to keep from filling the air ducts with pebbles from 65wear factory tires  Track ready off the showroom floor. Doesn't seem fair does it.

Are you saying he's bringing this out for some S1 action?

If I remember correctly AS moves to S0 next season - so not unless I can talk him into coming in the Summer's heat. But I'll keep working on him to get bitten by the autocross bug. Starting with a Corvette event T + T I think? Not so many pesky cones for a beginner

Ya I can't want for the 2017/18 rules change. Should fill up S1 nicely.

Season Points updated once again.

Two events left in the season. There are some classes where 1st place is locked down. But, there are a whole lot of battles yet to be won.

We have a provision to award 4th Place in a class with 10 or more qualified drivers at the end of the season. M2 has crossed that threshold! A couple other classes could do the same pending the outcome of these final events.
