Looks like my perfect run is going to be a wet one. I'll be driving my Miata for this one, so I can leave the rain tires on

I was going to offer a co-drive if you didn't have a car, but looks like you're better off in your Miata if it's going to rain.

Supposed to be evening rain...we could see a dry day.

Buncha pessimists. Typical Florida summer forecast. Might rain a little bit. If it does, we'll deal with it. It probably won't.

But, it will be hot.

I don't have time to get my tires flips so I'll be joining you in the daily tire racing. I never thought I would say this but I really hope it don't rain. My daily tires are bad in normal driving conditions.

I've never been to one of these but my wife works next to the airport and said that she heard cars racing around the airport. I also saw someone posting a picture on instagram. Is it hard to see the cones from the drivers seat? I'm worried I won't be able to see where the course is.

Not hard at all. You also walk the course a few times prior to driving so you have an idea of the course before you drive.

I believe the next open event is June 3rd, check it out and make sure to visit the novice section and the tips for first time autocrossers!

Interesting... we've had discussions about this. (we try to keep a lid on our noise level for just this reason)

What Matt said. Lotsa stuff on the website, like This.

Also some video might specifically address your concern:
FAST Video Gallery

Specifically, Joe Brannon uses a helmet cam. That's pretty much exactly what the driver sees!

But, the particular event thread that you've posted in... Registration is closed for this event, so we can't even let you come as a Guest at this point. Go ahead and look at June 3. Get yourself registered!

The 40% chance of rain/sprinkle Hernando Cty. at 1pm today lasted 3 minutes. Just enough to get my car spotted was all. Nice breeze.

You guys will learn a ton doing this. Years ago I was the safety steward for a Mckamey School and this segmented thing is exactly what they taught!! You are getting the same thing and WAY cheaper. :thumbwink:

Get all done and packed up by 5:30pm and avoid the 20 minute actual rain/sprinkle. At least it cooled things off.

Yea it sucks. By the time I found the site and made a login name and password it was a day too late. I work on Saturdays too which is another downer. So the next Sunday event I'm going to sign up as a guest. I'm new to this whole thing so thank you for not being sarcastic when it came to answering my questions.

I've been attending for a couple years. Folks who run it are friendly and helpful, especially with new people. [emoji106]

All guests say they wish they would have registered to race. Either way, come find me I'll give you a ride in the grocery getter.

I might take you up on that if it rains, I like low grip racing but I think my cone count would exceed what Axware can store with my tires.

The grocery getter for when the store closes in 10 minutes and you live 20 minutes away.
