I'm out of town during the classic, so this open event is the first I can attend of this season. I'll try to make it a full season this time around.

With the changes I've made to my car, I will be in a mod class for the first time in 5+ years! Combine that with the classing changes and I'm in M1. This will be interesting!

Somehow, I think you'll manage, Gerry. The new Miata has proven very capable... and with the right mods, it's pretty amazing.

No doubt! The car is great and it's definitely faster than its driver. I stopped caring what class I was in and just modded the car to where I wanted it to be. Nothing too crazy, just some tasteful stuff, but enough to put me in the mod category. I've been wanting to push my car and see what it can do now, so I'm very much looking forward to this one!

Here's what I've done:
- Flyin Miata sway bars
- Wheels and tires that are not teflon coated
- Flyin Miata springs with their upgraded bump stops
- GoodWin Racing ceramic coated header
- RoadsterSport Super-Q muffler to tone the header noise down
- Koni Sport shocks
- Upgraded shock tower brace; makes it possible to adjust the Konis and adds lightness
- An alignment
- OpenFlash Tablet tune
- EBC Yellow Stuff brake pads
- Stubby antenna - MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!

couple of new leaks developed. luckily it was a few o-rings and it's good as new. got the new wheels and tires on too. now I have a front end vibration, hopefully it's just a weight that fell off.

excited to start and to play for a full season!

Looks like T Shirts are really in super demand this coming season. I got an oil change in both cars, filled with cheap gas and washed them. Drew replaced his clutch with some Cheerios pucks. Randy put new O-rings and some possibly bigger rims? So that will slow him down as they weigh more. Loren installed a suspension not involving slinkys and decent wheels and tires. Steve is the season's very 1st slacker. Nate has moved to M2 so that must mean he took out the "lift kit"? The only thing Gerry hasn't improved is the seat? Whoa!! Too bad it will still run out of 2nd gear at 50mph...no help.

Attached is what you are vying for next August. I know it looks a little like I got stabbed in the back with a Ferrari gated shifter but it's a Mirage. Like smoke and mirrors. Loren never repeats a design or a car. Just hope you don't end up in the OA standings every event behind that Mirage. That's way worse than losing to the Fastiva.

I hope you all fare better than McGregor did last month. (No I really don't.)

You guys in M1 can breathe a little easier. I have sold the Silver Bullet. Have not found the next car yet but hopefully will before this event. But if not I may be begging for a ride. Guess I need to change my avatar.

No, that photo is, indeed, my hand. But it was taken long before I bought the Mirage! I took that photo in the S10, and then photoshopped the hell out of it, and found a random gated shifter photo on the interwebs.

My design inspiration was this, but I didn't like the awkward unnatural bend in the wrist... thus, I took an actual picture to start with.

That picture looks like someone driving a right hand drive car and still shifting with their right hand.

Joe,

Don't worry. I will need an extra driver in R class to boost my season points on 23rd. Don't rush into a lemon!! I love lemonade but not fond of sour cars.

Please provide clarification on the minimum age to participate. My son is 16 and licensed to drive, can he register to drive at this event or do we need to wait one more year?

16 w/ license is the requirement. But, being under 18, he will also need a parent present to sign an insurance waiver for him. :thumbwink:
