There is a 100 of 400 on discount tire on ebay with a promo code. They do sell re-71r's and I know how much you guys like those tires. Also Bridgestone has a promo going on as well for $70 rebate if you buy 4 tires but today is the last day, ends on the 18th october. Pretty decent deal if you ask me.

Curious, why the R-s4 over 71's, for better wear? I never ran re71s but kinda looking at the Rs4s due to having way better wear characteristics but still being almost as good as the 71s.

from reviews I've read it seems like the hankook are more resilienct to heat, can be interpreted as slightly longer lasting, sacrificing the ultimate grip the re71 hasCaptainSquirts wrote: Thu Oct 26, 2017 3:41 pm Curious, why the R-s4 over 71's, for better wear? Hankooks love heat, they are great summer tires in Florida. BUT not as good as RE-71s.

I havent physically touch the Rs3, but from experience with their product line vs dunlop, the hankook has a softer sidewall and sizing runs a bit smaller

+1 What Joe said. Now running RS4's on RX8 and they are better in the wet than the RS3's were. RE71's are still the stickiest I've run (first 70 runs ate the tread like licorice on Vette but they stick down to the end and I cannot rotate them for wear - only flip on wheels once. Still thinking about trying the autocross Nexens some day but the RS4's were $100 cheaper per set at the time. I'm running 255/40/17". No roll over on 9" rims at 30psi.jbrannon7 wrote:Hankooks love heat, they are great summer tires in Florida. BUT not as good as RE-71s.

Yep, went with R-s4 due to wear concerns. I daily these tires so the price/longevity of the 71's just don't make sense for my needs. Had r-s3 on before and they served me just fine, though the sidewalls were a bit soft and required more pressure. Hoping the r-s4 have a bit stiffer sidewall. Seemed like they do during mounting for what its worth.

How many events and miles did the 71s last for you? I am considering the rs4's also since I did the car.
