I didn't get the feeling you were hard on it coming out of the turnaround and into the diagonal slalom. That was the fastest part of the course, so you wanted to take advantage of it.

The trick to the last slalom was to pay attention to the last cone in each line, and make sure you "attacked the back" of that one -- had to be right on it. If you worked from the front, sooner or later you'd hit something. As you did.

Man what a fun event. It was so difficult to slow down enough before the offset slalom, which I smoked a bunch of cones there on my first 2 runs. I completely agree with Mike, I really wanted to get more runs in on that course. I felt like there was mid 40s able to be had. Not to keep rubbing it in but also glad to get dry runs in the AM group.

Here is my cleanest and fastest run, sounds like Phillip has already seen it. Glad me, Ben and Jason can make it so you win every damn event!!! Sounds like afternoon runs for next season. :snicker:

I'm down to hear any criticism on my run as well.

Here's mine. Sorry for the colors. I tried the "pro mode" on the gopro. No bueno.

Awesome day. Lots of great driving today. Lots of talent out there. Never felt I got the most out of the course, pushed too much on the out and not enough on the return. Felt rusty from 2 months off. Would have loved more runs to find the right line.

Jason that line is exactly how I feel I ran my runs, or at least what I tried to explain to the guys I was instructing to do. Looks great to me!

Matt out of curiosity what kind of power do yours and Drews mazdaspeeds have? Drews car looked like it was hauling serious donkey on the course setup runs!

Another good day.
I had fun breaking in the new Torque Arm upgrade. The car feels like it has quite a bit of rear grip now, as it stayed planted in the rear when I pushed it, and I pushed it lol.
Anyway now it understeers smh, this was expected though. See, part of the kit I've been piecing together for 2+ years now, is a trick adjustable rear swaybar and I don't have that yet.
So looking at my raw times compared to what I typically run, net gain = 0, for now atleast.
It is fun making one or two changes at a time to the car and experiencing the differences it makes.

Thanks for a fun course. new setups to try, more cones to whack.

Loren did the neebie walk for the late run. Nothing better than learning the in and outs of a course by the man who designed it.

Purchased a sports camera, worked good, still fine tuning, does add a new dimension to the adventure.

so which is better - a 240hp, 2400lb mini car or a 380hp, 4000lb rear car. on the other hand perhaps it is the tires. :dunno: :-D

Why would anybody want to autocross a 2400 pound pig? :headscratch:

Ah yes, feels great when if "feels" better after changes. Problem is figuring out if it actually made it faster. But I guess feel good can give more confidence which should net quicker times? :dunno:

I think at OUR level, "feels good" is a pretty significant thing. But, there are things that can "feel good", but not make you faster. Putting the fattest set of swaybars you can get on your car is a good example. It will make the steering super-responsive. No body roll, yay! But, if those bars aren't matched to the rest of your suspension, you could have drastic oversteer or understeer at the limit. And, sometimes a little compliance in the suspension is a good thing.

But, if you already have a fairly good idea where "the limit" is, then "feels good and still lets me drive at the limit without issue"... yeah. :lust: The only way to get better than that is to start collecting data. (and then you have to figure out if the deficiencies that you see in the data are due to the car or the driver!)

I ended up below both lines of shame in this event.......
Thanks! I've been quietly chasing you. But, don't feel too bad until it happens twice... :whip:

We're learning the new tires, and Bill has been making good suspension choices, that now need to be tweaked to work with the tires. It's impressive what he's done, with relatively little expense, much simplicity, and a bunch of elbow grease.
