FYI Cordless Impact Gun That Really Works

Postby Solar » Mon Jun 30, 2008 6:40 pm

Bought a Goodyear 24v ½" impact gun from Pep Boys for $90, and you get a $10 rebate so really $80. Just used it and it works great, had no problem breaking lug nuts loose at 80 to 90 ft/lbs torque. It will over tighten your lugs if you leave it on, so make sure to use a torque wrench. Much nicer than using my old 4-way. :D

It comes with a 24v battery and charger, 4 deep impact sockets 13/16, 3/4, 19mm, 22mm, a 5" extention and carrying case. From the reaserch I've done on the web, most people had positive remarks. I figure if all you use it for is changing tires out a couple times a month, it should last a long time. I was also surprised that it felt well made and not chincy.

Can I borrow it?

Looks nice. Maybe I'll save my pennies...

Brian, please come to my house the night before the event to change my tires.

Thanks.

Of course, I'm sure you need to see how well it works before you buy one. :)

I'll sell you mine for $50. I prefer to use my breaker bar and a drill. 8)
