Trailer Tail Lights Hitch Plug

Is the plug coming off the trailer a flat 3-male post 1-female type plug? I found a adaptor that will work with my round 4 plug connector on my Van, I just need to make sure I get the right connector for the trailer.

The Jag complains about autoX by throwing Gearbox Faults.
I think it is just lazy.
