So, any interest in reviving this? Craft Kitchen is open again and when I picked up some takeout last week they seemed eager to have us back.

FAST Monday - 15 June 2020

Sorry, didn't check the forum earlier.

Others may differ in their opinions, but I think Pinellas (and most of highly populated areas of Florida) is taking a major turn for the worse as far as COVID-19 transmission rates go. As much as I enjoy hanging out with car guys on Monday evening, I'm not going to be doing it anytime soon. As it is, I'm only putting myself near people when I absolutely must. And when I do, I'm wearing a mask. If this pandemic continues to go vertical, it's not going to be my fault!

When the numbers are low and doubling every 6-8 weeks, I'm fairly comfortable. (but, still taking precautions) When the numbers are rapidly growing and doubling every 2 weeks, we have a problem.

The population of Pinellas is just under 1 Million people. Our current infected population is only 2500. Yes, that's only a quarter of a percent. But, it also means that one out of every 400 people is carrying a highly contagious disease for which there is no cure, treatment is uncertain, and it can kill people.

If that continues to double every 2 weeks (or worse), that 2500 will be over 300,000 by the end of October. That would be 1/3 of our population. And shit's going to hit the fan long before that happens, because Pinellas currently has about 60 available ICU beds, and an abundance of elderly people.

I'll get off my soap box, but no... I want no part of FAST Monday just yet. The trends didn't look too bad a few weeks ago. Now they do.

Was watching CNBC earlier, and they list the Tampa metro area as one of the 5 hottest spots for the rona right now. I’m avoiding sit down places to avoid prolonged exposure.

As far as ICU beds, I saw a model earlier today that predicted Florida will need more than it has by September.

83% of all the dead FL people were over 65. 43% of them were in rest homes. I wouldn't be too concerned if I were under 65 and not in a residence or hospital.

I am currently put off eating bats tho'. Have a great Summer anyhow.

It's a toss-up. younger brother (63) spent a week in the hospital in NYC, on oxygen. No surprise, his wife tested positive but had zero symptoms.

If I didn’t have a bunch of chronic health conditions, I might be more adventurous.

I figure odds are even I will get it anyway eventually even avoiding crowds, but the longer I can put off getting it the more they will learn about treating it. And my wife just started a new job - last thing she needs is being off sick for weeks.
