Help me be lazy!
I want to return my silver Miata to stock 'H' class & all I need to do it is to loose the Teins & get back to stock springs. I've had KYB AGXs & 93LE valved Bilsteins already & want to try something new but don't feel like doing the work to figure out what the hot ticket for SCCA stock class competition is. Custom valved Konis? Something newer/better? Is there a good place to look for stuff like this, a comprehensive listing of who is using what on their cars in which classes?

You could spend gobs of money on the bestest custom revalved shocks on the planet... not going to make you faster until you're "ready" for that level of equipment. I don't want it to sound like I'm dissin' your skillz, I don't even think that *I* am ready for that level of equipment!
You've tried the Bilsteins (mmmm... Bilsteins) and AGX's and you want something new and different... get yourself a nice new set of Koni Sports. That's all you need. Seriously.
(really, any of the above mentioned shocks would work... but Konis are good, and you wanted something different, so there ya go)
So, are ya gonna switch that ported head back to stock, too?

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

Naw, the head is basically a stock rebuild. The shave is the only thing that is arguably making more power, but it's within factory rebuild specs. Plus, as you mentioned, I'm not that great a driver so there shouldn't be anyone calling for a tear-down or anything. . .
I figured this was basically a case of Koni vs. Bilstein. I'm pretty torn on which to do. I REALLY like Bilsteins and put them on anything. That said, I've never had Konis on my Miata and like you said, I did ask for something different. My main reason for posting this is that I didn't want to miss something awesome that might have come along since I stopped paying attention. I saw that Koni has a new shock but it looks like a factory replacement cheap-o piece. Nothing else new?

Trying new and different things will help you on your quest to become an "expert".
Bilsteins are great, but I think you'll enjoy the adjustability of the Konis. And, as you know, investing in quality Miata suspension parts is never a losing proposition. Buy a set for $500 today, sell 'em next year for $350... sell 'em 5 years from now for $200 or more.
