Comments and questions:

Is the thought to do another school on Jan 10 followed a week later by a regular event (as we've done in past years)?

You managed to avoid both Mother's Day and Father's Day. Way to go! :D

Two 2-day events? Awesome!

Thank you, Bill! I appreciate the kind words.
And actually, unless I'm mistaken, I avoided every holiday!

and while I know you got your answer in the other section, for those who didn't:

yep.

For right now I can take May and September, with Tim as my co-chair. I could do another, and I think he wants to chair one... but all that can be dealt with at a later date :)

Possibles.

In Jan., we're trying to set up a novice school on the 10th, followed by a full event the next weekend to give the novices a chance to flex their new muscles and to give everyone a regular Jan. event.

In March we have the "possibility" of a 2-day event. One suggestion so far is to do an "advanced" school/test-n-tune day, followed by a regular autocross. In Oct., there's another "possible" for which there have been no suggestions. I guess it'll depend on what we feel like doing, and who wants to chair it. We could just end up cancelling one day and doing regular events.

Regardless, none of this is written in stone.

Re: the School.

I would like to Chair the Classroom portion of the school, but instead of Trying to jam 3 hours worth on info and Q+A into a 30-40 min session I'd really like to meet the evening before at My shop or we can get a conference room at one of the local hotels. but I think the classroom is just as valuable a piece as the driving and allowing an evening for it to sink into someones brain before trying it on course. I've been a student and taught at schools using this method (actually it was my first autocross school) in addition it will allow us to touch on more Advanced topics. what we have used as classroom in the past can just be a low contact debriefing and cool down session.

Meeting all the instructors and going over what you want to learn before turning a wheel will be great. also it's not a required part but valuable. part.

I don't want to chair the WHOLE event but I'll make sure my part is in order.
this way the Co-chair will only need to worry about the On-course activities.
running in the morning, breaking the course down, then putting it all together in the end I loved that.

Thanks Jeff.

I'm gonna copy your post into the school discussion thread here:

Have a few folks who've volunteered to help, but no chair yet (though that job keeps getting easier). 8)

By "confirmed" if you mean we have the dates reserved, yes. But as of yet there is no plan, only un-chaired suggestions.

Until someone volunteers to chair, and decides how to use the days, nothing is set.

If no one steps up to do some type of two-day event, we'll just cancel one of the days and do a regular autocross. Odds are the day that would get cancelled is Sunday, if it comes to that.

Brian,
I'm not sure who posted or emailed first, and I do appreciate all responses, but TracAction (Scott) would appear to be chairing Feb., and Jamie is probably going to co-chair. Here's the thread:

Would it be ok if you and I did April or June? Both B'ville...

Steve
I would definitely like to , however I am going to have to wait until it gets closer to the date. Approximately a month out I will be fairly sure I won't have to work.
Thanks

the only things that need to be done still are the actual lunch order needs to get made this week and the finalized course needs to get through
