A guy at work has a G8 GT (has the auto w/ sportt mode, only GXP comes w/ 6-speed) and he loves it. I'd say give it a look. Then ask Tom (yellow GTO) for driving lessons. He has a great touch.

A good choice, but unfortunately the guy wants an automatic.

Teach your wife how to drive a manual! (Of course, I'm just speculating on your reason for the auto-tranny  )

I learned on the car I have now, and think that the Subaru transmission/clutch is a great one to learn on. It has a heavy enough flywheel so you can let it out slowly and get the car rolling while learning how to give it gas to get moving.

And then you get a lighter flywheel and have to learn it all over again. Yellow_Colorz_PDT_16

I'm going to test drive the Colbalt SS again and the MS3 tomorrow.

Not sure if I want to buy a new car, but maybe in late december when the auto industry really wants sales...

I'm also considering a old S2000 (2000/2001) or an Integra Type-R.

Sorry for the threadjack :P

I think you'll like the cobalt SS better than the ms3.

dollar for dollar, the new SS is probably the best fwd spocom available.

my wife is perfectly capable of driving a manual, that is not the same as her wanting to....

My wife would shoot me if I bought an automatic! Gotta love a woman like that. :D
The Jag complains about autoX by throwing Gearbox Faults.
I think it is just lazy.
