I just found your club and I am interested in the autocross school.

I used to have a 79 turbo Mustang when I was a kid and loved the fun cornering. I also had a 1970 Dart that I did a lot of extreme dirt road dukes of hazard style driving with handbrakes and jumping

After 20 years of conservative driving in family trucksters, I have bought a BMW Z3.

Yesterday I discovered Autocross on the internet and I am excited about being able to have some fun in a car again without getting in trouble or destroying the car.

If there is still room in the school, I would like to join

Thanks

Your timing is excellent -- registration for the school opens Wednesday night. See http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... LUB_ID=398 or the club website at http://www.wedrivefast.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for the link to register.

Count yourself in, Rydell - thanks for volunteering!

and that ought to round out the field as far as event staff goes. Now if I can just finish planning the day, we'll all be in good shape!

I want to register, but need help

Postby cameronarrow » Wed Dec 10, 2008 10:34 pm

I went to the site to sign up for the autocross school jan 10, but the site asks for paypal and I do not have a paypal account and do not really want one. I don't like paying for anything online. How can I register and pay without doing it online ?

You don't need a paypay account to pay with paypal. You will need to input your credit card number. If you really object to that so strongly, you can mail a check with all the MAE registration info attached, but you run the risk of taking more time and having the class sell out.

C'mon now, don't be lazy. A search for our club on MAE will get you
http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... LUB_ID=398

or you could just go here and look at the announcements:
http://wedrivefast.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And both of these links have already been posted in this topic.

FAST event info is generally not hard to find. Steve and Jamie are awesome like that.

I feel ya, but as steve points out,(and he did for me, also, awhile ago) Paypal is actually facilitaing a standard CC transaction here. In that, they are bound by banking laws, unlike their normal sleazy transactions
so, with 128 SSl you're fine

I may have missed some stuff since I've been busy, but as the volunteers for coursework, do we need to register anywhere or just show up at SPC around 7:30ish on the 10th?

Just show up.

Please just show up - really this might be an opportune time to (unnecessarily) point out that we need a real committment to be there from the instructors and courseworkers. The school can't happen without the staff, and while some jobs may be more or less "glamorous" than others, they are all equally vital to the success of the school. So, if you've volunteered, please be sure to mark your calendars, PDA's, i-phones, whatever and if for any reason you aren't going to be able to be there let me know as soon as you can (not that anything could possibly be more important than helping a noob get into autocross :P ).

And again, thank you all for volunteering to help!

Wait, you mean that we can't just volunteer for the free events then not show up and hope that you didn't miss us? :P

I'll be there, trying to determine whether or not I want to waste $$ on wheel spacers for the grand marquis or not before then.

If you don't show up and we come looking for you, what makes you think we'll miss?

Email has been sent to all instructors. Once registration is finalized more email will be sent - to instructors, courseworkers, and students. It'll either be later tonight, or tomorrow, so y'all watch your inboxes!
