Regarding a central location for tech inspection at Brooksville, BMWCCA does this with little problem. They run two lines in the center, facing the course. The tech people run through the lines and cars move forward. It is simple and works well.

re: late arrival fees. yeah, it's a little extreme, but I have to agree with a lot of what Brian said. Walkups at SPC are not really the problem, and we get 8-10 at each event...

if y'all want we can start a new thread for this discussion - this ain't the place for it...

but, BE ON TIME! please.

I have no problem teching at B'ville the way we do it at SPC.

Careful there, Kenny... there's a reason we post registration HERE first.

We want the FAST faithful to have first shot at getting registered.

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

Sure. From a driver's point of view, the system we have now is ideal. I set up my car, make sure everything's open, and then go help out or walk the course. Having to move the car around just chews up time, especially if the car's ready before the tech crew is set up. If it's a modified car with a marginal cooling system (or air cooled), that means lots of pushing.

Ditto for those doing early setup...the tech crew will have to go and inspect those cars separately anyhow.

On the flip side, drive-through tech means the inspection team sees the car running, which may catch fluid leaks that don't turn up otherwise, and gives a better chance to check the throttle return.

I hardly doubt that 2 guys at work who expressed an interest in auto-x (in general) will register right away anyways, if at all. It's all good, as they say.

Scott,

Charles has the number for a REALLY GOOD pizza joint near by. From what I could gather the time I was there, they have really good eats other than pizza, like Gyros and Subs.

My 2¢

I don't mind going to get lunch as long as it doesn't keep me from running with my class. Last time I got lunch, my class ran first and I had to run later and it wasn't as much fun. Plus I got all sorts of crap from Michlong because I beat him. He said because the track was warmer I had a advantage over the other guys in my class. :D

Just tell 'em they have a weight advantage because they ran before pizza.

If you'll handle lunch, I'll make sure you run with your class.
