I think you a Jeff put together an excellent program, that through the teamwork of FAST was pulled off without a hitch. People drove so much they were exhausted, and very happy (so it seemed), and as those times you are typing will show, there was some serious improvement made by almost everyone. A job well done, if I say so myself.

Yup, we did okay. 2.367 seconds improvement on average. Check out the Event Results.

Thanks to all who helped us make this school happen. It's at least the third school I've organized, and I think it was the best to date.

Looks like the large/high HP cars showed the biggest improvements.

It's soooo easy to overdrive most of them.

BTW: Did anyone get any video of the 240sx smokeshow during lunch? Thought I saw you out there with a vid camera Bill?

I had a pretty good time out there. I didn't even get sunburned! :shock:

It felt good to see our group of students post some great improvements, and the guys I worked with really refined their skills in the afternoon session. There were times where you could see things "click" as they tried different techniques, different lines, throttle modulation instead of changing steering input, etc.

Thanks again to everybody who volunteered and worked hard to put on this event. I can't think of a better introduction to the sport. I improved greatly because of all of the instruction and seat time.

LOST AND FOUND DEPARTMENT:

Did you forget to take home:
a gray zippered hoodie with a logo on the back from the Central Florida SCCA dated 1983? Size XL.

or a gray/khaki Colombia Sportswear zippered not-hoodie. Size medium.

Know anyone who did? I'll be sending them up to B'ville with the regstration box with Leo unless someone tells me otherwise.

Not sure what 1983 means. Possibly the first CFR autocross.

Awesome school. Glad everyone enjoyed it & got faster.

I was blown away by the folks that volunteered their whole day to work the course & timing - you guys should get a medal or something. There is no way the handful of runs you got were an even trade for your time in the sun. It's folks like you that'll keep the club healthy & fun for years to come!!! Thank you!

The guys that worked the slalom were great. They helped keep up the pace of that section and everyone got plenty of practice.

I had a good time, but I was exhausted by the end of the day. It felt like I worked two autoxs. I did not bother running in the afternoon. I decided 6 fun runs was enough. 8)

Dan, I was just logging in to post this exact sentiment. If it hadn't been for all the volunteers shagging cones we wouldn't have been able to do any instruction at all. We need to find some way to thank those volunteers who did so much for so little.

I believe Steve is working on a little something for our volunteer workers.

Be sure to extend our thanks to Wilma, too. We might not have had lunch without her! (for reference... apparently more cookies and fewer chips would have been the hot ticket, I guess cookies are easier to grab)
