I can't view new posts; it says Search is unavailable.
I like the old color/look better.
Also hate the big "phpBB" in the upper left corner. I don't what software it is running! I do care that we are FAST. FAST should be big and bold. The software logo should either disappear or shrink into insignificance.

Also : This was not an upgrade done on a whim - it was a long overdue security-motivated upgrade.

The old color/look was the same as it is now for the most part. I suspect you were using the alternate/unsupported theme I had installed with the old board (orange/black/etc).
I appreciate the comments. Just know that some may or may not be addressed. This, like all of our jobs, is a volunteer one that I take on. The goal is a functioning forum where users can communicate. Everything past that in its most basic form is bonus candy.

Re: Forum Upgrade
The main thing I don't like is the posting user's info being on the right hand side, just looks weird/backwards compared to most every other forum.
Oh and the submit button being on the right as well, general UI design should have the most commonly used option be the first button in the row, instead of the last one...

I appreciate that there were good reasons for the change. I also appreciate the effort you put in to make this forum work.

Re: Forum Upgrade
I'll look into the left/right user information thing.
Here are your choices for alternate themes with orange in them. Pick one.

Re: Forum Upgrade
#2, biggest problem I see with the current "style" is the read/unread thread colors are too similar and don't stand out enough.

Of those, #2.
It doesn't have to be orange and black. I'd just like a higher contrast choice than this default.

Re: Forum Upgrade
Jeff, thanks very much for maintaining this forum. You've done a great job keeping the spam away, and I really appreciate your responsiveness to past requests for additions/changes. Volunteering is definitely what keeps this club alive, and being able to have a forum like this is a real luxury, even in it's basic form. Your wilingness to take it past that basic is definitely icing.kickslop wrote:I appreciate the comments. Just know that some may or may not be addressed. Okay, I've changed it to be the default. It even put the user info on the left

Re: Forum Upgrade
I found a board "glitch". I had my time set to Eastern (-5hrs) but the display said 5:34 when it was 6:34. I changed it to Atlantic (-4hrs) and all is well.
It appears that the board doesn't know about Daylight Savings Time.

Re: Forum Upgrade
Ok, I really like it. 2 things could be fixed though IMO if you ever have some time.
The black orange theme rocks, but it doesn't go the full width of the screen automatically like the other two.
When you click a link in the pre-mentioned theme it opens in the same window. It would be cool if it opened in a different tab/window.
