That doesn't solve the problem.
You've moved 9 cars up "out of G", and moved 6 cars down "into G". Net result, only 3 less cars in G.

If we went with something like Dave's example would we want to carry these four classes into the modified and race tire arena? Or just leave those as is?

I think Woodbury's Mustang was a GT.
That's really not a bad class structure. I could live with that. The 2nd class is a little light... but we can't rely on that always being the case. F Stock-type cars are usually a little more prevalant than that.
Also in that group would be the NA Solstice/Sky, NA MR2, BMW 5 series and larger, Cad CTS-V, and various other "muscle cars".

I think the mod classes are a discussion for another day.
But, for the same reason SCCA doesn't use the same class structure when moving up to SP/P/M classes, I don't think this would work as a basis for our Mod classes. Perhaps what we have in place is working there?

Or we could do the same thing with the SP PAX.

Let's leave that as a discussion for the classing comittee... this has gotten way too deep already! (but the idea does have merit... except that our mod classes use street tires and SCCA SP uses autox rubber)

You need to add 584 Matthew Bennett 85 Toyota MR2 to Class 2.

He registered in the modified class for the last event. (added him anyway, see above)
If anyone wants to see where their car classes, the rulebook is here...
http://scca.com/documents/Solo%20Rules/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... ules_2.pdf
3 MB PDF. Stock car classifications are pages 155-163

We could split them like this to solve the dead class 2...
1. SS, AS, BS, CS (14 cars)
2. FS, ES, DS (11 cars)
3. GS, HS (12 cars)
For reference here are the pax rankings once again...
100 SS
99 AS
98 BS
97.9 CS
96.9 FS
96.5 ES
96.3 GS
96 DS
94 HS
BS and CS are so close, it's a shame to split them up. Same thing with FS/ES/GS/DS. But it's almost impossible to keep them together, without creating monster classes again.

But, I think the HS guys will appreciate not having to fight with the big dogs.

that seems to pair the cars up better without having a 25+ car classes. i like that idea.

That most recent one looks pretty fair, all except for the 99 miata in the same class as the mazdaspeed miata. is that a typo or would that really be the accurate class?

It's accurate. SCCA used to class the Mazdaspeed higher but lowered to to CS with the normal 2nd gen miatas since they proved to be no faster than a 99 Miata due to extra weight.

I believe SCCA classes all NB Miatas together.

OK. Discussion seems to have died.
Let's get that committee going.
Bob de la Gardelle (Miazdaman) has already volunteered. Who else wants to be part of the committee to decide what's gonna be done with G?
Post up!
